I cannot choose just one person because I felt like everyone did their part toward my recovery. They were always pleasant, smiling and keeping me informed of my care and giving me encouragement. A stay in the hospital because of an injury or illness is very frustrating and it is very easy to take the frustration of a situation out on those nearby. The staff here met this challenge with patience, understanding and they tried to make my life here easier and very comfortable. If I ever need this type of care again, I will want them to send me to Kindred.

I really liked my stay here. They tended to every need that I have had while I have been here and always in a timely manner. The doctor to patient communication has been great and that doesn't happen in some hospitals. I would know, I've been in a lot of hospitals over the last 14 years, including some in NC, TN, KA and OK. I would highly recommend Kindred to anybody needing this type of care.

I think that the pulmonary rehab program here is an absolute lifesaver! I've told all the people that I know who are going to a pulmonologist to try to find a way to get into this program. What I've found to be the most helpful was all of the education that I received on COPD. I've come to find out that there are so many people that do not know how to properly use their medications and the therapists here explain everything to you in detail. I would also like to mention something else that I was very impressed with while I was coming here. After talking to the therapists here about some symptoms that I had been experiencing regularly like headaches and fatigue, they suggested that I speak with my doctor about the possibility of sleep apnea. I had mentioned these symptoms to some of my other doctors in the past and none of them ever mentioned sleep apnea. I brought this up during my next visit to my pulmonologist and he scheduled me for a sleep study. Based on the results from my sleep study, I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea! It was the most amazing thing and I was so thankful that I wrote my pulmonologist a letter thanking him for putting me into this program. I have also learned breathing techniques that make it easier for me to manage my asthma and emphysema and I have benefitted greatly from the exercises which I didn't do very often before coming here. This is a great facility and I am very grateful to Kindred and this staff of respiratory therapists. I am definitely going to miss everyone when I finish the program next week.

I asked my pulmonary doctor at UTSW if there was a rehab program available and she wrote me a prescription for this program. I wasn't aware of what the program consisted of though. I thought it was going to be more physical exercise and I didn't know about the education portion of it. I have really learned a lot about my condition and I found it very interesting and beneficial to me. The therapists are very sincere and caring and they're also very motivating. They are all up to speed on what they are doing and they are very personable but they always make sure that you're doing what you're supposed to be doing. Tanya, Ken, Ron and Marty have all been excellent. They are always encouraging and very confident in what they do. I am now more aware of what I should be doing and I am physically stronger. This has been a great program!

I used to be an employee at Kindred southwest about four years back. However I have been working with Kindred for over 15 years and now I'm retired nurse. I used to work with Dr Adams but now I'm his patient, at Southwest. I really have a lot of trust in him as a former colleague and as a patient. Thank you for looking after me.

But the care that I received from two techs has been outstanding and I feel that they need to be in the spotlight. Beverly and Terry. They really go out of their way to help me from the basic needs to the most difficult request. For example some of the basic things we would do in life I have found it to be quite a difficult task however with their help they have made it very simple. I just wish I could have them at home now after the discharge. The food isn't so great nothing like my own home cooking but suitable for a hospital. Overall the staff has been nice. I see a lot of new faces that work here before during my time. I know nursing isn't the most easiest job in the world but I do admire what they do. The last advice I could give to any nurse is to call for help when lifting heavy items. Never think that you can do it even though you have the power to as it can jeopardize your body and back. Always remember to be kind to all of those that you take care of!

At first I didn't feel that this program was going to do as much as it has. I had always been a very active person before I became limited to only doing a few things because of my COPD. It got to the point where I really didn't feel like doing anything and I would use my condition as an excuse for not being active. I started coming to this program and I began to feel better and better the more I attended. My body began to feel good and I loved it! The therapists here, Ken and Tanya, are very nice and understanding. They have done so much for me and I really consider them friends more than my therapists. They always asked for my input during the program and that made me feel very comfortable. I feel like I can say anything to them. Now that I am near the end of the program, my life has changed so much and I now feel like I can do anything I want. I also want to say that I was using my oxygen throughout the day before (which I did not like) and all night but now I only need to use it at night which is wonderful! I would recommend this program to anybody needing pulmonary rehab. It has been great coming here and I look forward to it every time.

This place is like home to me. I've been here a few times and I know a lot of the nurses by name. They are always really sweet and nice every time I'm here. I really love the two twins which do the x-rays. Everybody is really nice! The housekeeping lady by the name of Virginia is very amazing. She came into my room and actually clean my bed. She completely dismantled my bed and cleaned it very thoroughly. John, one of my nurses is a sweet guy. He's one that you can completely put your trust in and he can definitely make women feel very comfortable such as myself. Definitely very knowledgeable and knows a lot about nursing care. I also had a chance to meet their CEO down in the courtyard a while back. Very pretty lady. Great care at Kindred.

My father was in Kindred Southwest and started on one of the floors and then went to ICU and then PCU. We are so impressed with their skilled nursing, their competence, their attention to the patient and their wonderful attitude. We also needed the care of the respiratory therapists and they were some of the best ever. Hector is the respiratory director and he leads by example with his outstanding team who took time and care in understanding my father's complex situation. We had so much confidence in their role. The OT and PT are also great. Aline and Marci were kind and understand how to handle my father to make sure he had the right amount of therapy with an understanding of his oxygen limitations. They knew how to handle the patient! We felt very comfortable with the staff and knew he was in the best of care. I highly recommend Kindred Southwest. It is not often you have such a competent staff and a nice one too.

It's worth it to give a five star especially the ones that really look after you. Dorothy and Bercetta are definitely two of those nurses that really helped me and my husband. They really went out of their way to take care of us. We never really asked to much but if we did they were always willing to help. The food isn't that great and could use some improvement but for what it is, it's susceptible. There are some other nurses that did great but I just cannot remember their names. But overall the care is what we expected and they do have a terrific doctors and nurses.

This pulmonary rehab program has meant the world to me and has changed everything for me. Before going there, I was diagnosed with COPD but I was sicker than I knew. I had gone to see my doctor, Dr. Maldonado, and I found out that I had a lung infection. He started me on antibiotics and referred me to this program at Kindred Fort Worth Southwest. Once I started going there, I began to learn a lot about my condition. I used to stay home a lot before and I was unable to go out because I would always get so short of breath. My husband would have to drop me off at the front door of restaurants because I could not walk the distance from the car without getting short of breath. I also was not using my oxygen much but after attending these classes I began to accept that I needed oxygen 24 hours a day. The staff here made me feel that it was OK for me to wear oxygen. Ken, Tanya, Ron and Marty are priceless. They provided a lot of education while keeping things fun in a relaxed atmosphere. Everything is so different now. I now have the ability and the want to do both inside and outside activities as well as things that I wasn't interested in doing before because of my condition. They and the other patients there also taught me that I had a lot of options for my oxygen needs and they helped me get set up with a great portable oxygen machine that I didn't know was available to me. I am going to continue at home with everything that I have learned there but I am really going to miss going there. They have a great program. I have attended a pulmonary rehab program before but it was nothing like the one at Kindred Southwest.

I appreciate the staff as they are very caring and dedicated. They are an excellent group of educators and they are always very encouraging. Ken, Tanya, Ron and Marty are exceptional teachers and have helped me tremendously. They always make me feel like I am part of the team. I'm an ICU nurse and now I know what it feels like to be on the other side as a patient. I am more active now than I was before starting the program and I now use the skills and techniques that I learned to control my shortness of breath. I also used to panic when I became short of breath and this program has been instrumental in helping me control that anxiety.

I received great care at Kindred. Scared at first because no one really likes hospitals but the team helped to make it easy. Great programs that they have there especially the people who work in the departments such as Rebecca and Claire from physical therapy. Great support and motivation from them two. Alison who is a CNA and Zoe nurse are sweet. Really great program that they have which is the ambassador program. Sandy who was my patient advocate help me to resolve any issues or problems if I had one. Thanks for visiting me everyday. Hope I don't have to go back to any hospital but if I do, Kindred would be my choice.

I've heard of Kindred before but I've actually never been there. It's was first time to actually experience the whole service and care as a patient. During the first day of admission the process was very simple, I had my own room waiting for me during the check-in.

The staff at the hospital have been very kind and caring. I never had any experience with
anybody who was rude or anything. To be honest I don't have a negative experience to share as it has been all positive. One of the techs during the night shift was really helpful in helping me to get properly cleaned due to the hip surgery. I really appreciated that as I was very immobil. one of the stops that I do remember was Lawanda who is a nurse during the day she is very professional, kind and courteous. I don't remember everybody's names who works their butt everybody has been so helpful and kind.

Definitely would recommend Kindred to my friends, family or those who just need help.

If it wasn't for Dr. Le and Dc. Osafo I probably wouldn't be at Kindred. But these two doctors really did a great job in referring me to the right hospital for pulmonary rehab. I actually knew about kindred before coming as I used to be in the transport business, transporting patients from one hospital to another. So I wasn't too worried about going there.

The care and treatment that I received there would definitely be one of the best that I can say. Their pulmonary program was outstanding as I learned a lot of things about myself from two great pulmonary experts. Alfred and Ron definitely know a lot. They taught me about different breathing techniques and signs to look for if if I think I'm going to have an attack. The prom in every class was definitely interesting as well as they helped me to better understand my breathing techniques and how to breathe more efficiently and effectively. They also provided me with a lot of information that I can take home and to better understand my condition.

And final big thanks to Sandy Davis as she has been very helpful during this day. She was assigned is my patient advocate which is a unique program they have there. However she checked up on me daily just to see how I was doing and she help to address any worries and concerns that I might have during the state. And if there was anything she would help me to get it resolved as fast as possible. I really appreciate that and thank you Sandy for being such a great patient advocate. I think this program should be at every hospital because sometimes if there is a concern or even a complaint sometimes patients like myself you don't like to talk about it as we worried it could jeopardize the care.

I have had an excellent experience here at Kindred Fort Worth Southwest's Pulmonary Rehab program. I used to be very active at the YMCA until I fell and broke a vertebrae and I was also afflicted with pneumonia. I then began to get pneumonia quite often. I started to become less active and it got to the point where I couldn't walk across the room without getting short of breath. My doctor became very concerned and sent me to pulmonologist Dr. Razack. He performed some tests on me and I was then diagnosed with emphysema. Dr. Razack referred me to this pulmonary rehab program and I began to attend about four months ago. I quickly began to realize my situation and learned that my condition could be managed. I gradually became able to do more things and I began use the information I learned here to challenge myself daily. Prior to attending, I was using my condition as an excuse for not being active. Then I learned that I can improve my condition with exercise. I began to increase my stamina and I was able to do more things before I became winded. I now feel much more confident and I'm able to cope with my situation much better than before. The pulmonary rehab team members here, Ken, Tania, Ron and Lanya, are wonderful and they truly treat you like a human being, not just patient. They really care that you do better and they are very knowledgeable. They were also very encouraging and they challenged me to do more than I ever thought I could. They are very optimistic and they would always boost my attitude. I am really going to miss all of them.

My dad is currently at the hospital and the service is fantastic. I always see that Kindred has a lot of positive reviews so I thought I would add mine and as well because I think they deserve it. The overall care has been terrific and the nurses are outstanding. My dad was in ICU prior to be moved to step down and their team in there is great. Very much on top of the game. Definitely a recommendation for others to consider this hospital if you're looking to admit your family or even a place for yourself. They have such a friendly staff here as you walk around the facility everyone says hello with a smile.

I've been attending pulmonary rehab at Kindred Ft. Worth Southwest for about 3 months now. Prior to that, I was unsure about my future and I had just about given up on doings things for myself. I began to hire people to assist with my groceries, walk my dog, and do my laundry and housekeeping. I even quit playing bridge with my friends. I then began to attend these sessions and I was surprised with the information that I was given regarding the level of improvement that I could reach by continuing to attend. I also met other patients in similar situations and I was pleased to hear them talk about how much they had improved while coming here. I almost immediately began to notice a difference and other people noticed this as well. I slowly began to do more things for myself and now I'm pretty much doing everything independently. My friends and my daughter are also very pleased with my progress. I recently went to a function with my daughter and granddaughter and my daughter stated "I have my mom back" and my granddaughter stated "And she has her personality back too!". The staff here has been wonderful and their personalities are a huge part of this program. They treat everyone individually and they are very motivational throughout the sessions. They are also very complementary toward all of the patients here. I am almost done with this program and I am going to miss everyone very much.

Not my first visit but my first review. The nursing team and the entire staff continues to surprise me with the care and service that they provide. Always outstanding to say the lease. I have been to kindred multiple times and each time is always different but the care is usually very consistent. Great outstanding staff such as Jasmine, Robin, Carla, Richard and Belinda from the nurse and CNA team. I know they work very hard at what they do and it's definitely not an easy task looking after people. So way round of applause to them and the entire staff who I did not mention.

You never really expect to give the housekeeping people some kudos however Theresa and Deeann Are two very dedicated people. They spend a lot of time ensuring the facility is clean and cleaning in areas that you would never suspect to be cleaned. Teresa is great as she does an excellent job and cleaning around my room. But the nicest thing is before she leaves she always ask do I need anything before going. Sometimes you get the housekeeping people who come in to do their job and clean and then just leave. Kudos to her!

My overall judgment of kindred is outstanding. I guess this is the reason why I keep coming back for my care.

My daughter suggest Kindred as she knew about them. Dr Warner who is a doctor works there, so it was best to be close to him. But the care and service has been great with no issues at all. Ron from the respiratory has been fantastic and has helped me alot with my breathing technique. He has been great!
Food is good but nothing like my own home cooking. Would recomed Kindred. Almost forgot Teressa in the house keeping department is so nice. Before she leaves my room she always ask if i need anything before she goes. A true person on hospiality.

The team and care that I have gotten has been fantastic and I have been overwhelmed by the kindness from the staff. Paula, Tolani and Elahia are my best nurses. I don't remember everybody name but they are great. Both guys and gals. Would recommend this place. I definitely got a lot of 1 on 1 care.
