I travel to Denver at least once a month for business and my experience every time w/ National has been THE best...esp as part of the Emerald Program! This includes car selection (I've always lucked out to secure an SUV, esp in the winter months). One time they were out of SUV's, but I waited about 5 min and they not only provided an SUV but upgraded me to a sweet brand new Jeep Cherokee for the same rate as my "intermediate" car that I initially booked. I've used the other rental companies and National has by far THE BEST program for business travelers (i.e. ease of booking, consistency, quick service both picking up and returning cars, customer service, emailed receipt, etc....). National's program really caters to every need for the business traveler! Well done, National!

National is my favorite place to rent cars and I've rented cars from Denver many times. This week I had my first bad experience. When I returned my car, the return parking area was completely full and closed with cones. There was no staff on hand to direct me to where I should return the car. I ended up parking in the employee lot and eventually someone came to receive the car. She seemed stressed and over worked as many other cars were returning and we were all confused.

I have been a loyal customer of National for at least 6 years. Not because I have to but because I want to. Speaking in broad terms ease of reservation and customer service have been unparalleled. Becoming a member of the Emerald Club only augmented these properties of National. Most recently a specific representative of National made this rental experience the best by far. We arrived at the National lot via shuttle from the airport of which the driver was helpful as usual. After disembarking the bus we were preparing to select our car from the Emerald Aisle. We noticed an abundance of SUV's and decided to ask the attendant on duty if it would be possible to upgrade to an SUV both for practicality (luggage for a family of 4) and comfort (lengthy drive through the mountains). The gentleman accommodated our request with a full size SUV as well as putting some final touches by washing the windows and review mirrors of water spots left from the car wash. He was very friendly and helpful. The SUV ran great for the duration of our trip and was exactly what we needed. Once again National was impressive in providing us with a rental experience exceeding our expectations.

The experience was OK. The only issue was that when I was at the service desk they said I was being issued a paperless reservation which was fine with me. When I got to the checkout booth, I was told that I needed to show my driver's license since I had a paperless reservation. This was a pain since I needed to take off my seatbelt since the driver's license was in my wallet in my back pocket. It would have been better if they told me at the reservation desk I needed to have my driver's license out when I got to the check out booth. I would have put the driver's license in a more accessible place. A little information improves the experience.

Whole busload of us from the airport showed up for the Emerald Aisle and found no cars available. After standing around for 20 minutes they finally brought in a bunch of mini-vans and said that was all they had. Mine wasn't even finished being received as a new vehicle as it still had everything inside foamed and plastic coated for transport.

Thanks for the great business experience.

We needed a one-way rental from Denver to Grand Rapids and were able to take a terrific vehicle that really made it a wonderful trip and the value was excellent - great customer service too!!! Everyone at National at the Grand Rapids Airport (GRR) is fantastic!!!

I have rented with National Car Rental for about year now. Overall I'm very satisfied. Have had a bad experience one time. The car was dirty when I rented it and it evidently had some damage on the hood that I did not notice. My company's insurance had to cover the damage they would not bend at all in they're decision. Even though I did not cause the damage, I got the blame for it. My word against theirs. This experience did not stop me from using National, but I will for sure fully inspect the car every time I rent from now on. The cars could be cleaned better when they are turned over. Most of the time the interior is dirty and I've rented a few cars that had been smoked in. I am a non-smoker and have severe allergies to cigarette smoke. Not good when I get a car that had been smoked in.

Returned a car to National in Denver and there was an issue with the reservation that the company caused. I have been fighting this problem for 10 weeks without much help from anyone in National and it is now interfering with my rentals each week because they think I still have a car out even though I returned the vehicle. VERY disappointed with National Rental Car customer service. Definitely going to switch to a different company after this is resolved...I can't believe anyone runs a business this way.

First time renting at DIA and they didn't disappoint. Unbelievable selection thru Emerald Isle. Super quick checkout process - painless! And the return process was even faster! I really appreciated how many shuttle buses were available - I don't think we waited more than 5 min on either trip. The vehicle was clean and ready to go. The signage for directions to the Exit could have been a bit clearer. With so many cars and isles I was unsure where the exit was - A quick question to an attendant solved it. I will certainly rent from them again!

As a Business traveler National has been very good in most aspects. Convenience is number one. I did receive a claim for hail damage on a rental in July that was not possible as it did not rain the entire trip nor was there any hail. I am still in process in dealing with that, but overall the are very easy to do business with other than this issue. I now video every car I rent so I have back up on my end.

The windshield and rear window were filthy on the inside. I had to stop and purchase Windex and paper towels to clean the windows myself. That's not acceptable given the rates charged.

I've rented from National (Emerald Aisle) about 8 times now, and this is the first time I've been so disappointed with their cars. I arrived to pick a car from the Emerald Aisle and there were about 6 cars available. Of those 6, 1 was completely filled with flies (granted all the windows were open...but what kind of cleaning job did they do that it still attracted 20+ flies??), 3 were small compact sedans - 1 mini van - and 2 small SUVs; all of them were dirty, one of the worst Emerald Aisle selections.

I selected one of the small SUVs and as I was driving it out of the lot I noticed the engine light was on. I normally would've have changed cars, but honestly none of the other cars appealed to me.

The customer service was good, nothing extraordinary or anyone going out of their way to be friendly/helpful, but nothing negative either.

All in all, a very disappointing rental experience this time, but I still enjoy the Emerald Aisle benefits so I'd rent again, at least one more time.

The entire process was easy from beginning to end once we arrived at the National Car Rental location. The staff was extremely friendly and the drop off was simply gathering our personal items and getting the receipt from the staff member (who was one of the nicest people I've met).

When I picked the car up, gentleman welcomed me.I told him I have never done this before and he was very warm and helpful. When I dropped off, team members also very friendly, warm and helpful. Very different from bad experience I had at avis at l.a.x. wonderful service.would recommend you
