Overall

I picked National because they had the best price for compact cars. I didn't realize I was an Emerald member so it was a nice surprise to be able to have my pick of cars and take off right away. I love it when they have VW choices! It was super easy to return the car, just drop it off and the girl that gave me my receipt was really sweet. Buses back to the airport were fast too. Great prices, choice of cars and fast friendly service! My new favorite rental place!!

Positives: Return process was very quick and the shuttle driver was very friendly and helpful. The car I selected met my needs although I could have benefited from a USB plug to charge my phone - I'll remember that next time when selecting my vehicle.



OFIs - The wait at the Denver airport for the National shuttle was long and cold. Signage in the pick up lot was somewhat confusing - I wasn't exactly sure which row of cars to select from.

My last trip to Denver went smoothly partly because there was no problem at National. They were expecting me and I checked out quickly via Emarald aisle. The car was clean and reliable. Check-in was quick and efficient. Price was as expected. Personnel were courteous and personable. Cant do much better than that.

My last trip into Denver the person at the desk insisted I did not have a reservation and there were no other cars available. This went on for a while why I tried to find the reservation on my phone. This can be difficult of course I to prove I had a reservation.



Fortunately, National HQ sent me an email while we were discussing the issue welcoming me to Denver. When she looked up the attached reservation number it turns out some else at the National had used my reservation number for another costumer. She was very nice but frankly I do not have time for this type of problem created by National employees.

National Car Rental Denver - Executive Aisle.....

Advise: the Denver Location Emerald Aisle selection is based on a strategy to limit the premium & SUV selection during peak rental times (holidays, ski weekends, etc.) Executive Aisle and Emerald Aisle during these times will have the same base vehicle selection choices...... Premium & SUV vehicles are held back and available only by upgrading (sales associates are eager and incented to sell you upgrades). During holiday winter season I would expect that Denver is one of the most profitable locations for National.

My husband & I go to see family in the Denver area often. My husband is disabled and travel can be quite difficult. Recently, we returned a car to National at the airport after it had snowed. The sidewalks were treacherous. The National personnel were so helpful in getting my husband to the airport shuttle despite the bad weather. National will always be number 1 in my book!!

Emerald 920885840 Reservation: 1106950526RESRV

On Nov 18 2015 I had a confirmed reservation in Memphis, TN with National for 11pm. I am a member of National's Emerald Club. I have had appropriate experiences in other cities with National. I had decided to use National exclusively not only for myself but for my employees who rent nearly as frequently as I. Plane was late. Not only was no one available at the desk (Avis, Hertz, etc were all staffed until the last flight arrived) but although the confirmation text directed me to my reserved vehicle, no vehicles were available. There were 4 other passengers on the flight with me with CONFIRMED reservations from National who suffered the same fate. I had booked National because I had heard of the service and rewards. I have just over 500,000 frequent flyer miles in the past 1.5 years and I rent from Avis at least once a week on the average. As this experience in Memphis has soured me completely, I will not be using National again except on an emergency basis...

ADVISE; If you are taking a late flight to anywhere you have rented a National vehicle, CALL and see if they will really have a car for you...Memphis was overbooked and the desk person went home...as mentioned earlier, Avis/Hertz and others were much more professional and appropriate. Travel frequently for business, have used another company for the last year and a half. Made the switch to National recently and have found their customer service to be incredible. Recently rented at DIA in Denver - encountered Leslie, Felix and Demetrius as well as a lovely young lady with a beautiful name, I cannot recall.

National is the way to go for business travelers bar none. Denver International Airport's finally went back to where they drop off National Emerald members at the Executive Elite area. I know it sounds trite but it's nice to not have to walk those pesky 50 more steps. HOWEVER, I give this National again a lower score because of cleanliness. How hard is it to vacuum out a car? The cars were spotless until that locale went from National/Alamo to National/Enterprise. Also, the inside of the windshield needs to be cleaned as well, National kids. My last two cars there in the past month had such a film on them that it blinded me when I first turned onto a direction with the sun shining. Guess who cleaned it? Me. Again. I wish they'd leave a bottle of glass cleaner, some newspaper and $5 for my trouble. Bugs the heck out of me. Hence the 3 star rating. National - 5 stars.

Every time I see the commercial of the guy going straight to his car in the Emerald Aisle I say "that's me". Been doing this for decades. Have flown a million miles. I always rent National.

I arrived in Denver International Airport with an Alamo confirmation number for a rental car to find out that the confirmation number did not show up in their system. Because I am traveling for the government I am required to only rent compact cars. Alamo did not have one available so they sent me to National. Since they both fall under the same parent company I assumed that they would honor the Alamo rate. I was sadly mistaken. I was charged almost three times as much. Then to my suprise instead of a four day rental I was only given a three day rental. Then to top everything off my receipt says intermediate instead of compact even though the car I rented was a compact. Now my expense report can not be processed until this is fixed. Of course I called and no one answered. Avoid this place like the plague. The employees are rude and the prices are way too high.

With other car rental companies I had to wait in line and got overcharged for terrible cars. National has a great app that is easy to use. No waiting in line and I pick out my own car! I love it. And it costs less for a car that is 3 upgrades better than other companies.

I use National across the country for all my car rentals and the Denver location was excellent to deal with. No issues, fast shuttle to the offsite rental location, selected a great car and was on my way. Easy return and quickly back to the airport. Great job everyone!

Rented a car in Denver, had a problem with car they came, towed it away and brought me a new one within an hour. Then left phone in car and they sent me the phone and charger. Wow !!!
