Shavon's Purple Lotus Body Art

Clean environment, educational if you have questions. I'd hang out up there all day if I could. Every time I've been I talk to whomever and we show off our ink, it is great. It's feels more like a family than a business, mostly. I tell any and everyone that Shavon is worth the price and the wait, after all a tattoo is for life. I had body image issues before I went to the Purple Lotus, now I feel as beautiful as the ink on me....and I personally wouldn't go anywhere else for a tattoo.

Shavon is the best! She was able to fit me in even though she was booked for 2 months. The place is VERY clean and the staff and visitors are friendly. It is a great place. Very laid back. She even gave me two souvenirs from my visit (not tattoo related). How cool is that!? I would strongly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a tattoo. Flash is not involved here. They sit down with you to make sure everything is exactly as you want it and make recommendations to make it even better. The referral program let's you get $300 in free ink for each 3 visits or referrals. I definitely plan to go back when I have the money or free work.

I'm from Oklahoma and was visiting my daughter when we stopped in to Purple Lotus on a whim. My first impression was one of awe: what a far out place!!! A calm retreat from the crazy world outside. Although we both have tats, we weren't sure what we wanted, but thought we would do the mother/daughter tat. lol.. Shavon and her crew were so patient with us, it was amazing. My daughter decided on a star with Believe which turned out beautiful. I decided to use my Wiccan background and go for the pentacle with the Believe. I made some suggestions for the design and when I came back the next day my design was beautiful!!! Shavon, you are a beautiful woman and one I will not soon forget. We had so much fun.. thanks for a great weekend (and a beautiful tat!).. Kat..

We have loved every aspect of our experience from you designing our tatoos PERFECTLY just for US!!! (so awesome!!!) to talking with Terri and Becca while we waited for you to do someone else's masterpiece! We knew coming to you that there would be a wait....you are the artist and at this point the only one doing the tatoos....but you don't get anything this amazing by being impatient. Your studio is clean and we appreciated that and we LOVE OUR ART (ding-ding) on our leg and shoulder! The negative is waiting to come in and get it finished!! We are excited and ready for it to be completed....cannot quit looking at them. (neither one of us, they are so gorgeous!) i felt 1000000% comfortable and although it was my first tattoo...I enjoyed the experience. Very clean...gotta take your shoes off...ultra sanitary.

Prior to visiting the Purple Lotus, I'd never even stepped foot inside a tattoo business - and I'm sure it showed! However, Shavon and her staff made me feel welcome and not at all silly for my decision to celebrate a big birthday by getting a tattoo. They took the time to research my request for a four leaf clover (a design I requested because of personal meaning associated with it) and found the clover that is supposed to be luckiest one. The work itself is beautiful and is truly a piece of art. And as for my fear of the pain involved, which really wasn't bad, they made sure that I was doing ok the whole time. I would highly recommend Purple Lotus to anyone considering a tattoo.

I can't say enough amazing things about Purple lotus!!! Shavon is an excellent tattoo artist. She loves her job and really takes the time to make sure you love your tattoo. Shavon really knows what she is doing and she is perfect. I went with a portrait of my mother, I was a little afraid about the result but she did an awesome job,the tattoo looks just like the picture. 5 STARS!

Shavon and her staff are amazing! I've read all the wonderful reviews and you'd think 'this can't be legit. no one person or studio can be that fantastic". Well she is, they are. She gave me my first tattoo literally three hours ago and I'm completely in love with it and with her. She talked me through it, letter by letter. My friend McKenzie was afraid to get a tattoo. She's wanted one for years but couldn't bring herself to do it. She came with me today and guess what?! She has an appointment with Shavon tomorrow. Again, it was absolutely fantastic. Super friendly staff, EXTRA clean environment. It's amazing. Thanks so much Shavon!!!

1 month later, I have a beautiful tatoo. Shavon is an artist like no other. The business was clean and inviting. I'm 60 and this is my first ever tatoo. Shavon and her staff made feel so special and were very welcoming. I love my tatoo, she gave me exact instructions on how to take care of it. My friends are so jealous of the beautiful tatoo I have.. Highly recommend this business because of Shavon's skills, personality, cleanliness and her staff makes everyone feel like their #1 client. Thank you so much for this bucket list tick off!!!

Shavon and her staff are absolutely wonderful. My husband got a tattoo from her and she took the tattoo to a new level. It looks absolutely wonderful and she did not stop working on it till it was perfect. She is a wonderful artist and a great person to be around. I cannot wait to go back and get the tattoo that she designed for me.

Shavon is absolutely amazing! I just got my first tattoo two days ago at the Purple Lotus and it turned out absolutely flawless! I recommend everyone to her as she is wonderful wonderful wonderful! She'll cater to your needs and makes sure that everything about your tattoo is absolutely PERFECT!! I am ecstatic about my tattoo and know I will never regret it because I went to the Purple Lotus for it. I love this place, and will probably never let anyone else do my tattoos!

i absolutely love shavon! i was so nervous and unmotivated to actually go through with getting a tattoo, but i looked anyway. i saw her name on line and was automatically drawn to the name; it sounds peaceful and beautiful, which is a very nice contrast when a needle is going in your arm! she was so kind, had such a good sense of humor and i loved what she did with my design. she added her own personal twist which was ABOVE and BEYOND what i was expecting to get from this tattoo. she understood my vision and was professional, kind and full of laughter, which really made me at ease. the purple lotus is a beautiful tattoo boutique, you can really get a sense of her personality, it's a very clean store and the best part, she gave me an AMAAAZING tattoo i will now get to LOVE and CHERISH forever. i will be coming back, WITHOUT a doubt. i wouldn't go anywhere else.

I thought about getting a tattoo for a long time and was very particular about what I wanted and who I wanted to do it. Luckily, I read a lot about Shavon's, and after viewing her website and seeing her work, I was convinced. This is the ONLY place I would ever go to get a tattoo, and the only place I would hope anyone else will go to. She took my idea and turned it into so much more. It goes above and beyond any piece of work I could ever think up. Her art is beautiful, and I am more than honored to have something as beautiful as this on my body for the rest of my life. On top of all this, all the people at the shop were hilarious! I honestly didn't want to leave :] It's a great bunch of people, and I can not wait to go back for another tattoo from them.

I absolutely love this place and Shavon! The atmosphere was so different from most tattoo parlors and everyone was so nice and welcoming. But most importantly, I walked out with a beautiful piece of artwork that I cannot stop staring at. Although I was terrified of the pain, Shavon made it quick and easy. And it's so gorgeous! I will never go anywhere else for future tattoos and would recommend it to anyone interested in a tattoo.

This place is absolutely amazing. I got my first tattoo today and could not be any happier. The studio was very clean and welcoming. Shavon is brilliant, both as an artist and a person. If you're thinking of going anywhere else in Columbia, don't. You will be missing out on the chance to have a beautiful piece of artwork. :)

She was great and really patient with me. She did my first tattoo and I was a little unsure on what I wanted so she helped and gave me some great original ideas. Love it!

After years of deliberation and a career change, I was finally ready for

my first tattoo. I had recently approached several other tattoo

"artists" in the Columbia (Vista) area but left their self-important and

judgmental shops with disgust. I obviously didn't fit their idea of

someone deserving of their time and work. I was hesitant to continue

but, thankfully I was directed by a friend to Shavon's Purple Lotus.

Upon entering her unique place of work, I was immediately struck with a

calm and reassuring feeling. Shavon was working on another client but

took the time to listen to what my wife and I were looking for in

tattoos. I already had the design, a piece of calligraphy done by a

close friend and had intended on keeping it simple but Shavon took the

piece to another place and added her distinct character to which I am

eternally grateful. Being my first tattoo, I am sure that Shavon saw

through my attempts to hide it, but I was nervous. Would I like it?

Would it hurt? Shavon's confidence and attitude put me at ease and was

I finished before I knew it with all my questions answered. I love the

work and would absolutely recommend any of my friends to her receive her

unique gift. Shavon, you have earned my trust and future business.
