absolutely amazing work. The whole process was very involved on both sides. The outcome was terrific and had a lot of fun doing it. The next two tats are already in the works from Shavon's and I wouldn't advise going anywhere else!!!!

Not so much a tattoo parlor as a home, which makes it a very relaxed environment.

The art is great quality, ecpecially with details, the only weakness is the actual skill of tattooing. My tattoo looks beautiful, but has clear scar tissue from being scratched while being done. None of that would keep me from going back for more or recommending!

I got my 1st tattoo @ Shavon's Purple Lotus and she definitely guided me through the whole process step by step. Her body shop is really really clean and gives a very calm feeling while you wait. She did her own custom design on my tattoo; I love it and everyone else that looks at it loves it too. All her staff are very nice and reassuring. I did my research before going and I was not dissapointed! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SHAVON PURPLE LOTUS to anyone seeking professional and high quality work. I will be going back for more art work!

If you didn't go to the best FIRST, it's not too late! Shavon can fix a bad tatoo! Outstanding and gifted artist. She doesn't make mistakes that you will have to live with forever! I can see why The Purpose Lotus and Shavon are rated so highly. For anyone considering a tatoo, she's the best there is anywhere and she's right here in Columbia!

First and foremost, the service was great and the people were friendly. I felt very comfortable and I am over satisfied with the work. Overall, I would recommend this shop to anyone who asks me about it.

Excellent Work!!! My husband had his 25 year old Marine Corps tattoo refurbished. Not only did she take the time to research the original design from the 1940's, she added her own unique details to it, making it a work of art. This is not your "typical" tattoo parlor. You will notice there that there are not hundreds of pictures of tattoos on the wall where you just point and say "I want that one". Every tattoo done there is a unique work of art. Instead of calling the Purple Lotus a tattoo parlor, it is better to call it an Artists Studio!!!

Go to Purple Lotus to get a tattoo. This was my 1st tattoo and Shavon was amazing. She listened to my ideas and came up with a beautiful design. She let me know what expect the entire time. I'm already planning my next one and can't imagine I will ever go any where else to get a tattoo!

Shavon's Purple Lotus Body Art Boutique is a classy, body art studio. She was so sweet and definitely cool when she gave Pvt Boone his new tattoo. Customized to fit him, I know that he will remember the experience for a lifetime. I am glad that I was able to be part of the experience. Even though we surrounded her by many friends of Hunter, she was very patient with us all! Thank you SO MUCH SHAVON! You rock! I seriously will make a special trip to Columbia, SC when I get my ink! I am pretty sure that Hunter will also!! Thank you!

Purple lotus was the best place for my first tattoo. Shavon and her staff were very friendly and made the whole process very easy and fun. I only had a small tattoo done but the amount of detail Shavon put into is is amazing....I still can't stop staring at it! This was a tattoo I had wanted for 10+ years and it exceeded my expectations. My friends that came with me said they would go nowhere else but Purple Lotus for theirs in the future, and I feel the same way! Can't wait to get my next one!

I had a fantastic experience at Purple Lotus. Shavon and the staff were extremely nice and very easy to get along with and her artwork is unparalleled. I went into the tattoo parlor to get my first tattoo expecting to get a fairly simple but unique tattoo and came out with a masterpiece. Shavon's shading techniques are amazing and the detail she puts into the artwork are stunning. She really gave my tattoo a very personalized feel and even gave it a kind of stoney and ancient look (which was perfect for what i wanted). The parlor itself was spotless and kept in pristine condition. Shavon was also very good about limiting the pain as she has 20 years of experience. Overall my experience at Shavon's could not have been better, the prices were very reasonable, the staff were great, and the artwork is phenomenal. Shavon is definitely a professional and an expert when it comes to tattoo's and i would definitely go back and recommend this place to everyone.

This place was off the hook. It was really nice, as well as the staff and the studio. Not to mention my tattoo most of all! It was a really nice experience. My friend and I went, and Shavon was quite nice to us. She kept us entertained with her stories and her life adventures. She is well accomplished and well rounded. I really enjoyed my experience and I will gladly reccomend this studio to any and everyone that I come across. If you want great art, and great company as well, Purple Lotus is where you want to be......:)

This is a great place to go! Shavon is willing to take her time to get your tattoo perfect and her personality is amazing (and the rest of the staff). It was my first time getting a tattoo so I was a little nervous at first but Shavon made me laugh the whole time and made my first tattoo experience a great one. I definitely recommend this place to anyone and I definitely will come here again when I decide to get another one!

Everyone in this shop is excellent both professionally and on a personal level. They don't just give you an amazing tattoo, they become friends with you in the process. For the duration of the tattoo that I was getting, Shavon and I discussed many things ranging from family and friends to the possibility of cyborg uprisings. What I expected when I envisioned getting my tattoo was the typical sleezy barbershop-esque parlors that are normally portrayed in films and tv shows, but my expectations were way more than surpassed when I saw the clean and pleasant atmosphere. If ever I feel I want another tattoo, this is the place I'll definitely to go. Bar none, amazing experience and incredibly friendly staff make this place a must-go for all of your tattoo services.

Best in the world...no,REALLY. Shavon and Richard are the best. The rest of the staff is awesome also, but it's almost like they're family now. I've been going to Shavon for the past several years. It's amazing what she does. You'll walk in with an idea and walk out with something better than you imagined. Thanks Shavon!

If you want to go to a great studio where they truly care about the artwork and what you want, no need to look anywhere else. Shavon will take care of you and work with you throughout every step of the process. Shavon is also a very VERY talented artist and will create what you want. There isnt enough characters allowed in this box to fully describe how happy you will be leaving there with what you want. Shavon and her staff are also a delight, very friendly and truly care with the final product . Shavon's definitely the best place to get a tattoo. I personally cannot wait to go back in the next few weeks to get another.

Shavon's Purple Lotus is an awesome tattoo shop. Great prices for even better work. The staff have great attitudes and are willing to have a conversation with you while you wait.



She added her own touch of detail and coloring to the work on my arm and made it look perfect, and she even fixed the ink on my wrist for no extra charge. I'll be going to Shavon for all of my future work!

My wife recently discovered Purple Lotus during out trip to the Columbus Children's Museum. I had gone to several tattoo shops in Augusta, Ga where I was temporarily living and they ALL told me the level of detail for my tattoo was impossible. Obviously realizing they were all garbage I put my plans on hold. We then went to the Columbus Childrens Museum and I called Shavon's place in the small hope that there was an availability. They said there was if I got there immediately. I did and they were very accomodating. They were very insightful as to the minute details of the tattoo (ie bordering, shading etc.) . Shavon was very busy and very talented, yet she did not rush the work. It looks great and I highly recommend Shavon's Purple Lotus.
