I have experienced pain in my jaw and shoulder for going on 12 years. I've tried many things that were all temporary fixes. This device finally makes me feel like I'm on the right track. Like I will have relief for a very long time, if not forever.

When I started having to press on my jaw to allow for it to close, I knew something needed to be done. I was worried that my jaw would eventually lock and I wouldn't be able to get it back to normal. saw three M.D's prior, and they "thought" it was TMJ. Finally got referral and bingo. Got the diagnosis and device to wear. I didn't really believe it would help, but to my surprise, three weeks later and no pain!!!!

For years I have clenched at night. Even though I wore a traditional bite splint at night, I would wake up in the middle of the night with my teeth aching and my jaw sore. I was having jaw pops so large that my face would sometimes go numb. I then started to have ear and tooth pain that became almost unbearable. My dentist referred me to Dr. Urbanek. The device that he provides has helped me so much. Now while I sleep the device keeps me from being able to clench the way that I used to. It is also more comfortable than the traditional bite splint. My pain is almost completely gone after just a few months.

For several years I had mild headaches and as my stress level increased they got worse until on Christmas Day all I could was lie there with a compress on my face. At that moment I knew if I didn't find relief my life would be severely limited. I wouldn't be able to work and I would miss out on valuable time with my children. After years and years of pain and discomfort I finally made the decision to see Dr. Urbanek. He is know in the area for being the "go to" doctor for jaw pain. I was reluctant at first to make the appointment and then the investment to get better but I could not take the pain any more. So after 3 months of following his advice and doing everything he told me, I am pain free! It is amazing! I could not be happier with the results! So glad I decided to take care of myself!

I never could remember what it was like to wake up and not have a headache, my jaw hurting, my ear hurting, and some times my arm tingling. I was unaware that my chronic earaches were due to TMD for a long time. I endured several procedures and treatments throughout my life beginning in childhood. I also experienced shoulder and neck pain. I went to my ENT and was miserable and had stomach issues from taking the over the counter meds and antibiotics. Finally, I was diagnosed with TMD. I used another oral splint that worked for a while but the symptoms began to come back significantly after a small surgical procedure. It got to a point where I could not open my jaw fully and was experiencing discomfort with chewing. My doctor told me it was due to getting older and I may have to live with this pain. I finally made my way to Dr. Urbanek's office and I have seen significant results. The best part: I can make out with my husband (of 53 years) again without jaw popping! :))

My jaw locked closed about a week after having 2 teeth extracted. This affected my everyday life - I could not eat a sandwich without having to cut it into smaller pieces. The oral surgeon I was seeing at the time referred me to get an MRI and then referred me to Dr. Urbanek. At my initial consultation, Dr. Urbanek informed me that headaches and shoulder pain are also symptoms associated with TMJ. I realized that I had TMJ long before my teeth were extracted but not to the extent of bothering me enough to seek treatment at the time. I was worried that I would have to have surgery but the splint that Dr. Urbanek made for me has decreased my symptoms significantly and I no longer have food limitations due to being unable to open my jaw.

It started a few years ago. My jaw would pop when I would chew and, outside of being uncomfortable sounding, it was not that big a deal. However, in the past year, it started to get worse. And by worse, I mean, I would be in the middle of a lunch or dinner event with clients or friends and my jaw would start to lock open. I would have to force my jaw back in to place which was not only painful, it was also embarrassing. My jaw started to hurt all the time, especially during a meal but even when I was in the middle of a conversation. I finally saw my doctor about it who recommended me to Dr. Urbanek.



My initial visit and continued care have been great. We worked through my list of symptoms and he explained that it was classic TMJ. He also let me know I was not a candidate for surgery which I appreciated. We talked through options and I went into the program.



I felt a difference in my condition in just a matter of days. I received my mouth guard on a Monday. By Wednesday, I was already feeling relief from the jaw popping and staying locked in position. The next week was even better. By the time of my 4 week visit, I was already 90% better. My teeth were much better aligned and I was not in pain while talking or eating.



What I really appreciated was that Dr. Urbanek and his team were knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire process. I really had not even really heard of TMJ before I walked in the door but I have learned a lot about it since. I am so glad that I was introduced to Dr. Urbanek and that the TMJ has been corrected.

Dr. Urbanek helped me solve a 20+ year problem. I was so tired of taking medication or muscle relaxers. Now I can go through the day without pain. It was worth my time & money.

I have had clicking/popping/tightness in my jaw for years along with neck/shoulder pain that I had no idea was even related to my jaw. My TMJ problems came to a head when the week before my wedding, I woke up and could hardly eat because my jaw hurt so badly. I continued to have intense pain eating for about a month - which made me miserable because I usually love eating! I was on very strong antiinflammatories but that didn't solve the problem. I was so sad and despaired that I would never feel better. I came to see Dr. Urbanek after my dentist recommended him and I read some good reviews online. He very quickly diagnosed me with TMJ relating all the way back to a car wreck in high school -I had never put it together, but that is when my symptoms really began. When I first came to Dr. Urbanek I was suffering with lots of pain, from jaw to neck, to fingers tingling, to my jaw locking. Dr Urbanek took the time to sit down and talk to me about all the trouble I was having. After spending the time and speaking to me about my options I opted to go with the TMJ splint. I wore the splint for a while and it was doing great but for some reason I was still experiencing lots of pain. Again Dr. Urbanek took the time to explain the next option for me. I then decided to go with surgery. In July of 2016 I had TMJ Arthroplasty meniscectomy with Fosa Implant. Not gonna lie this surgery was painful but now in the end I am 100% better. NO MORE PAIN!!!! It is so nice to be able to eat again and not have to worry about is it gonna hurt.

Would I recommend Dr Urbanek for your TMJ problems? You better believe it. He and staff have been so nice and helpful through this whole process!!!

After 6 years of doing exercises and taking daily doses of ibuprofen... Dr Urbanek simply took away my headaches, jaw cracking, shoulder pain, every symptom I had and gave me back the feeling of being normal without taking any medicines.

Dr Urbanek and his staff are wonderful. Six months ago I had terrible symptoms that I never experienced before. Headaches, dizziness, neck pain, and back pain. I went to several different specialist and emergency visits without answers. It affected my entire life. I have always been very much into fitness.
