National Car Rental

Absolute chaos during selection and checkout. Due to reservation made through Hotwire, no recognition of status in National's frequent renter program, no perks, no waiver of second driver fees which are a total ripoff. A disappointing experience to say the least.

we have been Emerald Club members for quite a while and although I adore the service we get in Sky Harbor I was very disappointed with picking up a vehicle in Orlando. The woman who met me (and another gentleman) in the garage spoke so low (and with an accent) could not be understood... and apparently had difficulty hearing - we both tried yelling when she walked away but it took tapping her on the shoulder to get her to respond - and again we did not understand (and could not hear) what she was saying. Check out was also slow and the clerk was not friendly at all... National at Orlando could learn a thing or two from Sky Harbor in Phoenix... that staff is always awesome.

The entire process was quick and easy during pick up and return. I would definitely use then again. Thumbs up all the way!

As an Emerald Club member, I like that I can skip the line & just pick out my car. Check out at Orlando & check in at Ft Lauderdale was smooth, no line on either side. Check in clerk was very professional & quick. I had my e-receipt before I exited the rental area. Love the convenience.

Emerald Club perks are awesome - got my car and was on the road in about 5 minutes, my brother used Budget and was in line for an hour! Orlando is a super busy airport this time of year so why stay longer than you have to.

While I enjoyed the experience of choosing my car and enjoyed the car itself, I was put off by the man who completed my paper work. Apparently the computer was freezing and running slow which caused him to have a bad attitude. Or maybe he is always that way. I felt as though I was being talked down to the entire time. I got the sense from him that I was in his way and annoying him. I'm not unsympathetic to someone having a bad day, but don't take it out on the customer. I probably would have given all five stars if it wasn't for this.

Paid a little more for National Car Rental at Orlando International (I'm an Emerald Card Member but still love a deal) and we were so glad we did. As we walked past the car rental co. that we had initially booked we noticed an extremely long line waiting to get their rental. We walked to the garage, chose our car and were on our way. The car return was just as easy. WE LOVE NATIONAL!!

All went well from pickup to drop off. Everyone was extremely friendly. Should have a sun pass in car though, but i hope the drive thru worked well.

I am Emerald Isle member, and at Orlando, the experience is just perfect. Arrive, walk across to the parking deck and just get in a car. We had a nice new Hyundai Sonata for three of us. Only used 2 gallons of gas going up to Lake Mary, University area and back.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Dirty under the seats, inc. receipts person who rented before...The "horrible" part...

I left my grandson's brand new $350 car seat in the back. National never tried to contact me (I am an emerald member). By the time I realized what I had done I was in the air. I called as soon as I could, I had to call (and have my daughter call) several times before getting a response the next day. My daughter went to pick it up the seat a few hours later only to find that the National Service people has ripped the car seat out by force (instead of unbuckling it like a reasonable people), needless to say the car seat was ruined (I have pictures).



Without asking the manager came out to say he would refund the cost of the rental ($95). This act was arrogant and stupid, not only is the amount ridiculously inadequate, the car was a rental made by my employer. It's a BIG FAT mess.

Why do you employ such ridiculously irresponsible people?

As an Emerald Club Member, it is always a wonderful experience renting from National. Simply walk to your car, get in and go.

Excellent service and clean, low mileage cars. I love the power they give you to pick and car, SUV ir van you want!

Simplest check in. Just walk to a car in the row for the class you rented and drive it away. For the first time in a long time I made a mistake. I picked a car I thought I'd like but within a day realized I didn't like the visibility. I brought the car back. I talked with a terrific young service person named Jasmine. She listened to what i wanted and helped me exchange for a car I loved. Modern air travel is a pain. It's very comfoting to know there's one part of the trip you can count on to go smoothly.

Very easy as an Emerald Club member to check in and check out. The car we rented was clean and we enjoyed driving it.

Emerald Club member, arrived at 1am and found a good selection of vehicles to choose from. Definitely the best/most convenient airport rental location (covered walkway from airport to rental cars) Drive to gate, handed employee license/CC and was out on the road in 5 minutes. Drop off was great this time! Employees guided everyone through the parking garage to the drop off location, had my receipt in hand and was in airport in 5 minutes max. Great experience!

I recently picked a car out of the Executive line of the Emerald Isle. I was impressed by how many types were available. Many other cities have limited brands or sizes, whereas Orlando had a nice selection for me. I enjoyed my decked-out Nissan Maxima driving between Tampa and Orlando for business.

I chose a car in the Emerald Executive Aisle and was soon driving down the highway. I soon realized that the car I chose didn't have a CD player which would allow me to listen to a few audio books I had brought along for my trip. So, I drove back to the rental location and the team at National willingly allowed me to choose a different car (that had a CD player) and didn't charge me for the 20 miles and two highway tolls that I had accumulated on the first car. I truly appreciated their assistance in resolving an issue (that was my fault) at no expense to me.
