TOTAL SCAM CCOMPANY! Don't do business with them!! Called with a $39 Duct cleaning coupon. On arrival one technician started to vacuum my vents, the other tried to hard sell me a $400 fix to the "mold problem" I had. I declined, then he said I needed addition air filters installed on my system which of course they could do for more $$. I told them no on that hard sale too. I noticed the guy that was cleaning the vents wasn't doing it like their flyer said (rotating brush, all the way to the main unit etc..) He was just using a regular Vacuum hose and every day Vacuum brush hooked up to their vacuum. He was only pushing it into the vents a couple of feet too so I complained . He said it was a strong vacuum and he only needed to put in a foot or two in & that would clean the entire vent. TOTAL BULL SH**. I called the main company number & complained & they gave me the same BS line after talking with their guy. When I got off the phone with their company Rep., the 2 "technicians" were packed up & left. They said someone from the company would contact me to reschedule since they didn't have the proper equipment to clean my system. Yeah Right! I figured that since they couldn't scam me into spending more money they left. I have not heard anything back from them nor will I ever let them come back. From reading other reviews it looks like that is how they work. Come in under the pretense of doing a job for little cost then try to sell you Mold clean up/ UV lights or anything they can to get money from you. Beware if you use them because that is what you'll get. Incidentally the company I used to clean my system after them said there was no mold in the system & installing additional filters could restrict the air flow in the system & actually hurt it! Again in my opinion don't use this Scam company. They will rip you off selling you things you don't need!

Good Service, I called them after having a bad experience with another company, who gave me huge estimate !!

they send a technician over, the estimate was reasonable.

He did complete system cleaning and sanitizing for $489, the tech was very polite and informative. the other company gave me estimate for around 4 times that amount.

DON'T TRUST THIS COMPANY. They are scammers. I responded to a $39 duct cleaning ad in clipper magazine. The technician almost immediately identified a mold problem I now know is phony. He tried to sell me a $1600 mold cleaning service that he would do right away, and then told me he could get me a discount by telling his boss he knew me personally. He called his boss, put him on speakerphone, and told him we were neighbors and his boss almost immediately agreed to give me the "employee discount" of $1250. All these prices seemed phony to me, so I declined for the work to be done right away. The tech said I would have to pay $1600 for him to come back, but after more research I'm confident this was all a con and I will not be letting this technician back in my home.

UV Lamps cost $50-$70 on eBay NEW! Feel free to haggle with them

I ordered the $40 groupon that turned to $479 total. I got the UV air killer and dryer clean plus they cleaned my coils. My beef is the lie I was told that the company actually loses money when they install the UV lamp. What horsesh*t! But I wanted to have the lamps installed and will put a YouTube video on how easy it is to install and save the world $400

I used a groupon for duct cleaning and as soon as they got there Jon did the hard sell for mold cleaning and told me it would cost $399. and then tried to see me a UV lamp for $348. He then told me to get my dryer vent cleaned, which was part of the deal. Once I told him that I was not going to do the additional services, today, they left. They never did the dryer vent or finished the house. If the groupon was to get me to use there business again, it didn't work. I would never use them again.

Scammers

I used a groupon and the company name on the groupon didn't match the invoice. Then they tried to convince me I had mold which would have been an add'tl $400. When I told them I had bought my own mold test that was negative, they said they couldn't go by that. They tried to charge me $20 for their test I refused then they said they couldn't clean the ducts be/cuz of said "mold". They were here for total 1 hour & only "working"

for total of 30 mins. When they did the dryer vent they released so much dust into the air my son's asthma was triggered. At the end of the day they only vacuumed the dust from the vents and did nothing to the duct system itself. They were trying to charge me more for a service I had already paid through groupon. And when I asked to re-read what my groupon covered they pulled out a different groupon with an entirely different company name on that! These guys are scam artists that just want your $$$. Not professionals & on the signed invoice the guy tried to check off that services were performed when they were not. BEWARE & if they come to your home be careful what you sign!

After reading a lot of bad rev...

After reading a lot of bad reviews about this company, I was weary when the crew arrived. The tech, Bryan, was very thorough with explaining what my $49 voucher was for and started to explain the other grave situations that is actually causing breathing problems. He opened up the return vents and the cover of the main unit to show me the accumulation of the dust. He was very professional and after listening to his explanation, I agreed to let him work on the return duct. After seeing the amount of dust he managed to remove, I agreed for him to clean the blower, which he removed from the unit, dismantled the blower and motor. He hand cleaned and brushed the unit under my watchful eyes. Bryan knew what he was doing and the slogan "don't fix it if it is not broken", lifted from my mind. I was pleased with the outcome, no problems, a working HVAC. Clean air and a cleaner HVAC unit which is already 18 years old. BTW, we also agreed to install the UV lamp ($250) to kill allergens. Total cost 800$. This is only day one, I will update if there is any problems in the future.

We are very impressed with the quality of work you have performed. We are going to be using Mountain Air from now on. With our newborn just recently arriving we needed our forced air unit thoroughly cleaned. Bryan, our tech, was most helpful. He did a great job. Our son sleeps better now and I was amazed at how much dirt and debris was in our system. Thanks again.

I wish I read these reviews before I got $630 worth of mold-cleaning services. I got a Groupon for air duct cleaning. They came at the appointed time, told me that I had mold in my AC unit as well as the air ducts, and that would be $399 for cleaning the main unit and $199 for cleaning the other ducts. I am a new home owner, and since mold is not to be had in the air that we breath and it would be easier to just get it done now rather than taking another day off from work, I bought the service. When cleaning, the technician said that the drain pipes must have been clogged at some point for the moisture to collect in the main unit. When I asked him if he checked and if they were clean now, he said, yes, they are fine now but it must have been clogged at some point. They were done in about an hour. Fine. noticed some white residue coming out of the AC pipes after that, just figured it was the cleaning agents that they used. Two days later, our AC stopped working. I just thought it overheated or something since it's been SO hot in DC, and called an heating/cooling company to come out to check it out. The diagnosis was that our drainage pipes - both the main and the emergency - were clogged. It was quick to drain the unit and unclog the pipes, but cost me another $250.

So I've been trying to call Mountain Air Duct Service to get SOME kind of a refund. I mean - a $630 service should not involve this drama. They had the technician call me back when I first called, who just kept on saying how the pipes were NOT clogged. Then he said that he'd get the manager to call me back. No call back. I tried to call the manager again a couple of times today, and the line goes straight to voice mail.

I called Groupon to complain. I also called my credit card company to initiate a charge dispute, which makes me feel like I have SOME kind of recourse. But I really wish that I had checked the reviews before I used them, cause then I would not feel so tricked.

Call Living Social to complain

If you purchased this deal from living social call them to let them know about your negative experience with this company! I just got off the phone with a very helpful living Social associate. They may be able to refund you credit for the amount you spent. Also they like to know theses things so they can be sure not to use this company as a promotion In the future! Call and complain about these scammers !!!

All of these complaints are 100% accurate. Do not work with this company! My mother in law was kind enough to purchase air duct cleaning services for our new home through Amazon Local deals, but we quickly discovered during their visit yesterday that the service provider was not above board. While air ducts were covered as part of the special, returns were not. They charged us $29.99 per return and incorrectly counted the number of returns in the house and charged us for that higher number. Then throughout the visit, they continued to try to upsell us -- once by saying that there was a fungus growing on our furnace that likely meant mold was blowing through our A/C vents. The fix? A $399 furnace coil flush. Then, 10 minutes later, they said that they spotted mold in an upstairs air vent that could be fixed with a $299 air mist that they would send through the vents. With a proposed bill of nearly $1,000, I knew something wasn't right, so I looked up their information and noticed that there were other bad reviews/complaints online. I confronted the technicians with this information, asked them to stop work immediately and told them I would pay for the returns and nothing else. The technician claimed that they had finished the work and that I owed them $699. After much back/forth, they left with $379 only to discover that they had miscounted the number of returns and failed to clean a few of them. When we called them to report the failure to finish the job, they came back vacuumed the vent and took off when we asked them to come in and recount the returns with us. After many phone calls with their main office, they have since reduced the price a bit more as a result of the incorrect return count. To make a long story short, this is a company that preys on new, unsuspecting homeowners and $300 later I'm still not even sure my ducts are clean. FYI - a reputable duct cleaning company should take at least 3-4 hours to do the job. These guys were there for 45 minutes.

This is a scam, they pretended to work for 5 minutes and never put my vent covers back on the wall. The tried to have me pay for a much more expensive service and I'm very glad that I did not do this. BEWARE they stole my money, don't let them do this to you. I'm contacting the Better Busienss Bureau. These guys need to be stopped!

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!

My husband purposely took off from work to meet them on the scheduled date at our house. No one came. One of their workers left me a voice message stating that no one was home and left - how was this possible? He probably didn't even knock on the door. I called them back on the same day, but never received a respond. I left them three separate messages and no one return my call, until finally I spoke with a person on my 5th attempts. This person was very rude and blamed us for not being home. I had to reschedule and must pay a transportation fee. What?? Don't use their service. Awful from the start!

Called when I found a coupon for $39 to have AC vents and dryer vent cleaned. It turned to $379 within two minutes of them arriving for just the dryer vent. He said it didn't include from the outside in. I said no thanks. He pushed and pushed and then went down to my furnace (only 2 years old). He came up with a picture on his phone with coils covered in mold. He noticed I had kids and went on and on how dangerous this was and I need the entire vent system sanitized...blah blah blah. I ended up just saying do what the $39 gets me and thats it. They basically shopped vac my vents. Here is the worst part though. I was concerned about the mold so had someone else come in. They found NO MOLD in the furnace. They pulled it apart and showed me everything. These guys are crooks. DO NOT USE THEM!!
