We moved here from the Bay Area two years ago with an elderly grumpy rescue cat. They were very caring and did get her history from our old vet so not too many tests. So when we moved with Winifred the Cardigan Welsh Corgi rescue I naturally needed a new vet in a new city and I found Yonkers Animal Hospital. They have been so wonderful with her. I can't say enough about their empathy for the animals (not so much my wallet, but they did work with me after her recent surgery) These aren't just beasts, they are members of our families so I have to say it's worth the money when they are so dedicated to the care of your furkid. I recommend and trust them totally.

We started going to Dr. Howell when he first opened. Three cockers and two German Sheppards later, we are still with him. The latest cocker we rescued from a local helter and he had, among other things, one of the most raveging ear infections ever encountered. Both ears literally stunk and were full of fluids. We never winced on keeping the dog because we had such great trust in Dr. Howell. For those that know dog breeds and diseases, our new cocker had Pseudomonas Aeruginosa which is a terribly difficult ear infection to treat and cure. The bacteria changes all the time and it is persistent. Dr. Howell did extensive reading, research, and outreach to other ear professionals and he personally devised several different treatments of ear drops and anti-biotics. After a few weeks, we began to see progress and we are finally on top of the problem. It is such a relief to be able to rescue a dog and bring it back to full health.

People think that we were brave to take on a sick dog but, in all honesty, if we did not have the confidence and trust in Dr. Howell from years of experience with him and him facility, it would not have been possible for us to keep this dog. He literally saved our dog's life and that is priceless. Whatever Vet was treating this dog before just gave up or failed to find the right treatment. But Dr. Howell used all of him knowledge and skill to search out the best treatment and not rely on guesswork. Another thing is that him office staff are always wearing big smiles and professional. The Hospital is always clean and smells good. It has all the right equipment and medications in addtion to a complete medical staff in the back to perform deep ear cleanings, teeth cleanings, ear cultures, blood tests, etc. without inordinate delays in results

We have 5 huskies and Dr. Howell has been their Dr. since day 1. We would follow Dr. Howell anywhime. The office visit may cost a few dollars more, but when you take into account the care that your pet, in my case my children, are receiving, then those few extra dollars do not matter. We are very pleased with the rest of the Yonkers staff and facility and he is hands down our favorite.

Best veterinarians in NY. Our dogs love to go. They will pull us in the front door. The staff recognize our dogs and greet them with doggy treats at reception. We never have a problem with them going to the vets. office. We have been to a couple of different vets but none holds a candle to the caring professionals at YAH . Thank you for being there for us and our mutts.

We presently have three cats, and have in the past owned dogs as well. We have been going to Yonkers Animal Hospital for many years now. They are the most caring, most capable veterinarians I have ever found. We couldn't be more pleased. Their advice and their care have been superb.

I have been going to Yonkers Animal Hospital for over 15 years. They have always done a fantastic job taking care of my pets, and have always treated me with kindness. You will never find a vet & staff that care for your animals like all of them do. God bless them.

Thank goodness for the vets at Yonkers Animal Hospital. My 1 year old dog was poisoned and hardly breathing. I rushed him over to Dr. Howell and everyone jumped in immediately and helped him. My little boy was saved. I owe them my life. Thanks to all the vets and staff at Yonkers Animal Hospital!

My dogs and cats and I had a good experience at Yonkers. The staff is so warm and caring toward the pets. The vet explains what is going on and what the aftercare procedures should be.

The vets here have always been straightforward, thoughtful (they even sent me a card and both vets called separately to given their condolences when my Siberian Husky passed away) and they don't nickel and dime you. The Jersey vet that I've been seeing barely has time to go over things and we have to pay for everything including what little time you get of the vets and incredibly for medical disposal for the shots that they gave my dog... are you freaking kidding me? Anyways, after a few months of this we've decided as much as a hassle that it may be I'll take the hour drive and pack my two dogs and cat for joint vet visits back at Yonkers Animal Hospital.

My dog's health is my top priority so if it takes time to wait and I have the ability to get in when I have to, then my time is something I'm more than willing to sacrifice. It's true the office could use a sprucing up, but I prefer the fact that they are clearly in this for patient care #1 and not overcharging in order to pay for a Ritz like office. I've searched the Internet for pet medications and have found the prices comparable to those Yonkers Animal Hospital charges. So prepare for a long wait, have no fear of overcharging, and enjoy patient care second to none at Yonkers Animal Hospital.

I've had pets all of my life and have never had a vet as good as Dr. Howell. He cares about his patients and I've always felt that my pets health was his highest priority. That may seem like a foregone conclusion when going to a vet, but all too often I've felt like I was being squeezed for every cent when leaving. That is NEVER the case when leaving here. The other vets that work there are more than capable and I've felt completely comfortable with them treating my dog, but Dr. Howell is second to none.

They truly love animals at Yonkers Animal Hospital. I miss seeing Dr. Gavin & Dr. Howell, they cared for 3 cats of mine. The office was never beautiful but I never wanted to "pay" for them to upgrade the office. Once I had an emergency after hours and had to visit another vet & man did I pay for that visit and for their nice comfy office. I would take the Yonkers office any day. The prices were fair, the wait was long but Dr. Howell & Dr. Gavin were worth the wait.

Dr. Givan & Dr. Howell saved my Cat's life (& prior to that my Ex & his family had been going to Yonkers Animal Hospital for at least 15 years dealing with Dr. Howell directly & they loved him). My cat had a 6 inch mass in her intestines & cancer in her lymph nodes. Dr. Gavin performed the surgery & Dr. Howell followed up. They gave me advice to seek out chemo or holistic or any route I chose. They did not push me into anything. My cat is still alive & well even though she is no longer a patient of Yonkers Animal Hospital. Had they not performed the life saving surgery & cared for her post surgery & made the proper medical recommendations she would not be here at the ripe old age of 17!

This day and age it's super hard to please everyone with the cost of doing business constantly looming over head, but I can tell you when the doctors and their assistants have seen my pets they've always treated them with utmost care and concern. Care is the rare commodity here and you really can't place a price on it. I highly recommend this place, if you can actually find something better, you're quite lucky and maybe a better researcher than I am. Dr. Howell has been my favorite, by the way, and the one assistant I spoke to has her own dog, and personal experience counts just as much.

I love, love, love them! I have two older dogs; a 15 year old Shar-Pei, and a 14 year old Chow mix, who I wouldn't trust to anyone else. Dr. Givan and Dr. Howell are the reason my dogs have made it so long. Both animals are living well, both walking up and down stairs on their own and going strong. Thanks YAH!!! Also want to mention that their groomer takes great care of my Shar-Pei's sensitive skin issues like a champ, and the front end staff is always cheerful when I come in.

I felt prompted to write a review once I left. Everybody was friendly and I had the great pleasure of not having to wait to be seen. This is my second visit to the Yonkers Animal Hospital and I intend to continue all my pet care needs here. I found the pricing to be reasonable, which can be a concern for many people. The level of commitment, compassion and knowledge given here lets me know my Chihuahua was right where he needed to be!

I recently received a toy chihuahua, Maya and was referred to Dr. Howell by a family member. I can honestly say, he is by far the sweetest, kindest, most gentlest vet I have ever met. He spent time with me and Maya to explain everything I needed to know about have such a small dog!! Maya is my best friend and I love her to no end!! She is my baby and I would wait 6 hours for Dr. Howell if I had too. Obviously he treats every patient with concern, or the wait wouldn't be so long!! That only tells me that he CARES!!
