First rate muffler service. Easy and convenient online appointments and very professional service. Hands down the best muffler shop I have patroned. Kevin installed a Borla cat-back exhaust system on my Corolla Hatchback and I couldn't be more pleased. First class welds and awesome attention to detail.

Showed up 15 mins early for my appointment. They diagnosed my resonator was the issue when the engine was under load and at about 1400 rpms.
I was out of there in an hour.
Excellent service and great front desk (receptionist) knowledge.
I have been going there on and off for 30 years when I needed a muffler solution
I called Ed Hansons for a Quote and they were 40% cheaper than the other muffler shops I called. Plus I received anther 10% off with their coupon. It took 40 minutes for them to install it. No extra cost for anything.

The folks at Ed Hanson's diagnosed and repaired my leaky heat riser in my vintage car at very reasonable cost. Not only is the engine much quieter, the engine runs much smoother, and the increase in throttle response is dramatic. It feels like I gained 50 horsepower ! Big thanks for their expertise and courtesy. Joe Vissers

I wish I could rate this business higher then 5 stars. Extremely rare to find a business that doesn't try to take advantage of you. We brought our full size RV to get the exhaust system checked having been told by several mechanics it was the source of some random engine stalls. They got us right in & checked it and said no problems here you're good to go. Could have easily did unneeded repairs but did not. Highest caliber service I would easily travel 100s of miles for their service.

Well, let me start by saying i have never provided a review for any business. Maybe that's because before now, I never felt compelled to do so.
I needed help building an exhaust system for my 1940 Ford hot rod which I had just spent every day of the last 10 months meticulously building from the ground up. I first called a few speed shops and though many of them did exhaust systems, they all referred me to Ed Hanson's for custom work. My experience began when I called Ed's and had the pleasure of explaining my situation to Barbie, who confirmed that in fact I had come to the right place, assuring me that I would be well taken care of.
Arriving at my scheduled appointment, Barbie greeted my and introduced me to Kevin, an employee of 28 years and the mechanic/artist that would be sculpting an exhaust system worthy of my project. A few minutes later I was introduced to an unassuming man by the name of Ed Hanson. Ed immediately reminded me of my father; energetic, engaging and most of all, proud of his work, and his "family" of employees at the business he had built over more than 3 decades.
I went over the car with Kevin, explained to him my wants and needs, and listened as he described how he would go about crafting my exhaust. Convinced that Kevin was the right artist for the job, I began to meander about the shop. I met Joe, another artist that's worked for Ed for more than 30 years and watched as he sculpted a meticulous exhaust system for a customer's near new Range Rover. I also continued my conversation with Ed. We talked about life, his family, his other "family" and his business. Ed is a very gracious person and took time out of his busy day (he was fixing the hydraulics on one of his many pipe benders) to talk with me about any subject I cared to bring up, and the more I learned about Ed the more I liked this man.
Meanwhile, Kevin continued working his brand of magic on my car, occasionally calling me over to discuss his thoughts on any one of a myriad of little obstacles encountered on my particular installation. As Kevin was clearly well versed and knew exactly what he was doing, I wisely chose to follow his advice. Kevin was tasked with routing my exhaust up and through the frame with just 3/16" clearance around the pipe. The pride Kevin takes in his work and his attention to every detail showed as Kevin worked tirelessly to create the perfect exhaust system for my ride.
I could not have been more pleased with the work Kevin did and highly recommend Ed's to anyone that needs work done on their exhaust system. In fact, I look forward to taking my son's classic 67 Camaro there next and having the opportunity to visit with Ed and his "family" again. Thank you again Ed, Kevin, Joe and Barbie for such a wonderful experience!!!

I dropped my car off at night. He checked it out and had an estimate before I even called in, had it fixed by the end of the day.

Got a quote on the phone by Ed, he took the time out to discuss all my exhaust needs for my car. I set up my appointment for my cat back system on my car and was excited to get the work done. I arrived for my 7:30 appointment and they put my car up as soon as I arrived and started working on it. What was suppose to be an 11/2 job ended up taking 2 1/2 hours because the mechanic I had kept leaving my job and working on cars that came in off the street as well as he stopped to get him something to snack on at the gas station next door. The job turned out good and Ed was really nice, I just don't think he should of allowed his mechanic to stop what he was doing when I had a scheduled appointment, my time is very important and because of this guy stopping and going on my car my entire day had to be rearranged due to the extra time this appointment needed. Very disappointed in the professionalism of the shop.

Ed and his crew are true craftmen, and take pride in their work. I will go back for any of my exhaust needs in the future.

Went there to get my exhaust installed. It took only 1 hour, which seemed to be like 15 min. The good thing is that you get to see the guys install it. These people really know what they're doing. Very professional and knowledgeable people who work there. I would have to say good customer service with no hassle. 5 Stars

Thanks for being one of the last true businessmen around that really cares about the customer and treats them like family! Truly the best, Ed Hanson's Muffler Service in East County!

The man is the president of volumetric efficiency and back-pressure. He knows how to make your car go faster, run smoother and can tell what is wrong with it before you even pull in to the shop; he is truly an automotive genius.

They really did an excellent job and worked with me on what I wanted out of my truck. The muffler mounting was phenomenal. The tube routing was great. They made the dual exhaust the way I had it planned out in my mind...except, they did it a little better. Ok, enough about the exhaust. Now about the service. Ed and Joe have been at this for 25+ years. They know what they are doing. They love what they are doing. It shows in their work.

Ed is very fair in pricing and he and his staff provides a very honest and expert welding job with superb service. Job is very clean and neat. Ed and his wife are very good in their exhaust systems knowledge and customer service. I highly recommend Ed Hanson Muffler shop for their work. Wife's Subaru easily passed smog test later that day with extremely low emissions. Catalytic converters do work very well in reducing exhaust emissions. Very good people!

I heard about Ed through the guys at SD Tint (another good spot). I called him to schedule an estimate for an exhaust that I was looking for. I asked if I could come in on a weekend since I work during the week but he told me that his shop isn't open on Saturday or Sunday but he would come in for a few hours and take a look at my truck. Cool. The Friday afternoon before my appointment, my schedule opened up and I called to see if I could come in that day instead of ruining both our weekends. He said that worked out and I went in. I was able to get out with work finished in 1 1/2 hours.

Ed is just a great guy. You can have complete confidence that his staff can fix whatever problem there is. In my case it was a custom mid pipe for my Jeep to clear my front drive shaft. Not only was there solution a thing of beauty, but he helped me out getting new catalytic converters at cost. Now I can finally install the front drives-haft and get to wheeling. Basically from the simplest muffler jobs to jobs that require creativity and invention, Ed is the man.

I rolled in on a prototype motorcycle and just wanted some advice on my options for rerouting the exhaust. Despite the shop being busy and the phone ringing off the hook, and employees asking his advise, Ed not only showed sincere interest in my project and gave intelligent/knowledgeable advice, but bent some temporary pipes for me to use as I finish prototyping.

I was referred by Toyota of El Cajon to Ed Hanson's Muffler to have a cat back system installed on my Toyota Motorhome. I am very impressed with Ed and his staff. The mechanic who did the work on my RV actually thanked me for my business when I left. Ed spent 10 minutes with me over the phone before I even came in. They were done in under 2 hours and my RV sounds like a race car and drives so smooth!!! IMPRESSIVE SERVICE AND PRODUCTS!!!!
