After Hours Welding & Trailer Repair

My steps to my RV broke and I needed to either have them replaced or fixed. After looking around at having them replaced I went the repair route. I found Chris from After Hours Repair on the web, called him and he said bring them right over. Being a welder myself I am always on my guard for people who throw things together and send you down the road with something that will break soon. I can promise you that Chris went out of his way and made my old steps better then the new ones for 1/3 of the price. I would recommend his services to anyone who needs something repaired ASAP.

Chris is a very knowledgeable welder. He was very professional and helpful with the welding repair of my 56 T-Bird's radiator leak. If you have a radiator leak before you spend hundreds buying a new one give Chris a call. He saved me about 350 dollars. Call him for an appointment. No shop overhead charges...eliminates the middleman and delivery charges. Drove the Birdy today and my beauty never drove smoother. With close to 100 degree temps today my temp gauge on the T-Bird remained normal and repaired leaks held up immensely. I needed a custom-built tool rest for a wood lathe and sent the plans to Chris. He called me to make sure he understood the job and we agreed on a price. He invited me to his shop to see the part fabricated and I was impressed with the cleanliness, orderliness, and the modern equipment he had at his disposal. This is a first-class shop. Very quickly he cut the parts to size, dressed them, set them per the drawing, and welded them together. The finished job is just what I needed. I highly recommend Chris for any custom welding needs you may have.

We drove from north Carolina in two vehicles pulling camping trailers to camp at Anastasia state park. One of the vehicles was pulling a pop up for their first time. On the highway it handled poorly. Before returning home we went to Harbor freight and bought a sway control for the camper. The evening before leaving early the next morning we went to install the sway control we discovered it had to be welded to the hitch. Not thinking I would find anyone at 6pm I looked up welders on the YP app I called around 3 to no avail. Then I saw they were open till 9pm. Hallalu in 45 minutes it was welded and was very professionally done. I would recommend Chris to anyone needing a welder.

I recently bought a travel trailer, new hitch and stabilizer chains instead of bars. I had a problem with the stabilizer chains loosing up. We found Chris on line through his well-done website. He welded stops on the frame which eliminated the problem. His compact garage is well equipped for his work and meticulously kept. I believe it is a reflection on the stellar work he does. He is professional and friendly; patiently answering questions and giving you the time you need to feel confident in what he can do for you. I was so pleased with his work that I took my trailer back to be undercoated. It's been two months since he completed the job. My trailer looks great. I recently purchased a horse trailer and on the way home, a guy went left of center and hit the horse trailer right at the wheel bending both axles. The trailer could not be pulled to get estimates. None of the other shops would come to me but Chris came to my barn, gave me an estimate and communicated with the insurance company to get my trailer repaired. He was extremely professional and true to his estimate. He also did items that were not included in the original estimate for little or no additional cost. He actually finished the repair work a day a head of schedule. He takes pride in the quality and workmanship of his work.

I hired Chris to weld in new floor boards on my old pickup truck as the originals had rusted out. I've done tons of welding myself but the metal was way too thin and I was sure I would burn holes through it as it was extremely thin sheet metal. So I went looking for a professional who could do better than myself. OMG are the other shops expensive. I got estimates from $450 to $600. For that money I was going to burn it myself and live with some (maybe a bunch actually) melted through holes.



Then a friend of mine heard what I was doing and told me of After Hours Welding and Trailer Repair and recommended him very highly. I had about given up at this point but off to another welding shop I went for another estimate.



Chris gave me a price of $250 so I let him do it. He let me hang out in his simple shop while he worked. He didn’t burn one single hole. Amazing… I loved watching him work. His shop isn’t fancy but his work and prices are top notch. He will definitely get more work from me next time I need anything done. I haven’t gotten a bargain like that in a long time. It felt so good to be on the winning end for a change.
