The Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board, established in 1968, provide curriculum and standards for certified law enforcement training facilities. It addresses the needs of uniform peace officer selection, recruitment, retention and training standards. The board also administers the Peace Officer Training Fund. The Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board serves more than 170 law enforcement agencies. In addition, it has over 12 board members. The board issues public notices and organizes meetings. The Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board offers certificates for peace officers. It provides training and education on modern behavioral science and leadership theories.
