Located in Phoenix, the Arizona Department of Liquor License & Control is operated by the state of Arizona. The department promotes the health, safety and welfare of citizens by licensing the liquor industry. It also assures compliance with state liquor laws through collaboration, training, adjudication and enforcement. The department is responsible for reviewing state liquor applications and issuing more than 250 new and over 600 renewal licenses monthly. The Arizona Department of Liquor License & Control s licensing division issues, transfers, renews and audits the various types of licenses. The department s investigations division investigates and processes complaints received, as well as provides background checks on applicants for liquor licenses. Founded in 1939, the Arizona Department of Liquor License & Control offers law enforcement trained speakers for several industry functions.
