Overall
I feel so betrayed by this pla...

I feel so betrayed by this place. I have been a great customer for 5 years. My husband and I bought two automobiles from them. My problem isn't in how the cars worked, when you buy from a place like this you have to assume some risk and I actually found their service department very friendly and helpful. My problem isn't with how much I paid, I knew what I was getting into when I signed the paper. I had no choice I have horrible credit and needed a car. My complaint is that I HAVE been a loyal customer. NEVER late on a payment! My husband was put on military orders and his pay was messed up. It was completely out of our hands. We recently used ALL of our savings to move to Tulsa form Edmond so my husband could start Medical School. So when he was told that he will not be paid until the 1st of August and will not receive a paycheck at all for the month of July we called them thinking....we have been loyal, never late, came back, recommended Express to others OF COURSE they will be willing to help us out this ONE time and its just 13 days they would have to put our payment off. But this was NOT the case. They were downright mean to us. They talked down to us, telling my husband he was lazy and needed to get his priorities straight. They refused to let us talk to a woman they said had the authority to help us. Over and over they would say "I don't have a authority to approve that" and we would say ok can we please speak to your supervisor who can and the lady we were speaking with would tell us no she needed to handle this. ?!?!?!? So we hand to hang up and call back to different numbers we found online. Finally we were able to talk to this lady who we were told had the authority to approve our request and she told us if we turn in two emails with military documentation on them that she would have it approved. When we got off the phone with her we called the Vice President of the department and while on the phone with him asking for an explanation why they were being so ugly to us, the lady was in the back ground yelling obscenities about us. Now we are waiting on them to let us know if it is approved (even though they said it WOULD be). We have called back a few times and they said it will be approved but we are still getting phone calls every hour from their billing department threatening us. When we tell them our situation and who we have been talking to they say "oh that won't be approved you just need to pay your bill right now." When you are a good customer there is no reason for any business to treat you that way. Its appalling. Hope this information is helpful. If they are not willing to help a loyal customer of 5 years who has been to Iraq fighting for their freedom TWICE and is starting medical school in the fall why would they help anyone?

Overall
Hateful horrible customer service!!

I know for a fact these reviews are NOT TAINTED!!! I am in fact going through everything described in these reviews right at the moment. I have had a horrible time with express auto credit, it has been an absolute nightmare!! First of all since I bought the car last April my salesman, Josh, has yet to return a single phone call after he stated "call me anytime". I've only spoken to one decent professional person at this company. We consistently get harassing phone calls at home and work, hateful voicemails from a woman named Dominique. There has also been times when we have been trying to discuss some issues we have and she has been extremely tacky and has even hung up on us!! There was also times when I have been 3 days late and she has began calling people on my reference list!! After being no more than a week late with my payment before she threatens to call the DA and press charges on me!! They say there like a "family" well I have 4 children and work full time and I always make my payments with being no more than a week late the few times that I have been late and I get threats to take my paychecks and whatever other method they come up with!! I've also had them threaten to take my car away once becuase I had TOO MUCH insurance coverage!!! Which they also charged me $36 for having too much coverage on my insurance policy!! I have gotten stressed out and fed up enough to call and tell them I'm done with them and I will be bringing the car back where they notified me that I could return the car but they would still get their money by any means necessary! This woman has even had the audacity to threaten me while I was at the hospital with a very ill 5 year old. I called yesterday to let them know I would need to send my payment through money gram instead of having it withdrawn and she stated to me that she looked up my information on the computer and the payment cleared then I get a call today saying my payment is 2 days late and if I don't send it today they are pressing charges on me!!! I feel for anyone who goes here after my experience. It makes life very stressful and hard!!

Not worth the time!

So I guess Shawn, you don't use your cigarette lighter to charge your cell?? And I'm pretty sure if they didn't want you using it to charge the battery, then there wouldn't be any car chargers made. If you were a decent person, you would contact this person yourself instead of having him call...yet again. It does seem crappy that you will charge more than what the car is worth..way more..just because some people have had bad luck. And please tell me why you make people go to your facebook page just to look at your inventory..but they have to come down to get any information on the vehicle? It says 'call to get more details' but when we call, we are told that a salesman will get back to us (which they still haven't after 2 days) or that we need to come down to look. The majority of car dealerships will list miles, price, year and have more pics on the car. Even some mom & pop stores have these details. But not you guys. I get that you want people to come to the stores so you can do your sales pitch, but some of us prefer to start our shopping online to narrow it down. And instead of narrowing down the list of cars...you basically just took your dealership out of the running that I'd even stop by. I just don't understand why a car dealership can't be more respectful and understanding and DECENT to people. We're spending our money on a vehicle to get our families around, to get to work, to get groceries, just like you salesmen do. So why just because someone may have bad credit mean that they deserve to be treated like they're lowlifes or that you can screw us? Why should I pay more for a vehicle than someone who has 100+ points higher than me on their score? I guess it takes a 'special' person to be a car salesman. I know I for one couldn't be one, I couldn't look at myself in the mirror if I did people the way you guys do.

Overall
Shawn is a great figurehead but a ghost

We all heard your speeches on TV every day, however most of your friendly speeches end after you sign on the dotted line. A $15,000 suv.... $1000 down and 36 months later and $18,500 I still owe $3,600 to pay if off. Mmmmm does that sound like financing that works for people who can't get regular financing.... NOT it sounds like a very good business for Auto Advance Financing. I went to the warranty department on alot of really important things called safety. The tie rods, upper and lower ball joints... just small things that are not covered on that great warranty.

I finally got a decent loan on a car and called and told them I was trading. Between the time I traded the car and the dealership who bought it brought the payoff into Express Credit Auto I received over 5 calls a day, several text messages, and a very nasty woman who threatened me with her non stop loud speech. I was told that until they got the payoff from me I was still going to make my payments to them. They were notified by the dealership and was told that they bought the vehicle and would receive payment within 10 days. You use the word friends and family. I think you need to change that phrase. This is not a family or any kind of friend that most people would want. This place takes advantage of everyone. People who don't make any attempt to pay their bills and the ones like me that never missed a payment in 3 years and just wanted to end the blood loss before the contract was done. I am so glad never to have to deal with the blood sucking family of Express Credit Auto ever again. For every repeat business you get there must be a hundred that would rather walk than sign another contract with you.

Rip Off

Purchased a car here, was very easy to get qualified for. When time came to complete the paperwork I left the their office feeling like I had just made a huge mistake.

Express Credit Auto's Retail pricing for vehicles are marked up at least 100%. For instance, you pay $18999 for a car that's only worth $9K. Their excuse is, you're high risk, so you need to pay more. So High Risk means that Americans who have financial difficulties should be made to feel worse or pay more, never really understood that reasoning.

But because you are paying more for the car, keep in mind, if you're involved in an accident, your insurance company is only going to pay the $9K. And when you tag the car, you're going to pay the sales tax on the $18999 instead of $9K. So you finance the vehicle for 3 years, they will still charge you 21% interest on the loan, so in reality you've paid almost $30K for a car that's not worth $9K. Why not just sell the car for 9K and charge 300% interest so we can feel better about our purchase and actually know that you intend to screw the very customers who keep you in business.

In addition, the cars have GPS Trackers, you don't make the payment they turn the car off. If you drive off the lot and the axis breaks or the frame is cracked, you're out of luck. Which brings me to my main gripe, after being told the car had been put through testing, the cig lighters don't work (need for phone charger), the glue that was holding the ceiling up came undone and started sagging, brakes and Windshield wipers are bad and need replacing, and 2 weeks after purchasing a very expensive vehicle, it breaks down. It's sitting in their maintenance department under going testing, has been there all week. No offer for a rental or loaner car and no idea what is wrong with it.

My advise, save your money, pay cash for something until your situation improves then fight the battles with traditional financing and stay away from these type of rip-offs.

The total cost of a $18999 purchase is much more than $9000. Our pricing is competitive and is usually $1000 to $2000 cheaper than our buy here/pay here competitors. Plus every vehicle financed through our related finance company comes with a free two year 30,000 mile limited warranty. Most dealers charge $1500 to $2000 for what ECA gives away for free! Concerining the service issues. I am not aware of your specific situation but all of our vehicles are reconditioned to a safe and operable condition. All the customer has to do is call our Warranty department with in the first 30 days of purchase and we will fix most problems that the customer is concerned about. Cigarette lighters are not checked in the reconditioning process. It is not advised to use the cigarette lighter for a phone charger. Customers have to remember that these are used vheicles and are not perfect. We sell these vehicles to friends, family and neighbors. We do our best to provide the most reliable transportation we can. If you are still having issues with your vehicle, I encourage you to call the warranty department at 405-947-3120. Your satisfaction is important to us!
