Primary Care
Breastfeeding involves mom and baby. To provide the best breastfeeding care possible we usually need to see both of you. We take a history of both mom and baby, examine each of you as needed, and observe a feeding. Then together we develop a plan for you and your baby. We complete two patient encounters, thus if your insurance company requires co-pays, we collect two co-pays. Insurance plans vary and change frequently, we charge the primary care co-pays and adjust if insurance states otherwise after the visit.

Pregnancy
The point is – this is your life. Neither you nor anyone else knows what tomorrow has to offer. So if you want to have kids, have kids. Even if there is a greater chance that our kids might get multiple sclerosis, it doesn’t mean that they will. My children are two of the greatest parts of my life (the other two are my wife, Lauren, and that new candy bar that has the rice-crispies along with caramel and peanuts in it). Let your healthcare and support teams know that you want to have children. Make a plan about how your multiple sclerosis will be handled while going through the amazing journey of pregnancy and childbirth.
Labor and Delivery

Internal Medicine
They traveled back and forth along I-95 to meet up with each other when they found the time. While at Jefferson, Lauren made the AOA Medical Honor Society for academic achievement. Vincent became the editor of Georgetown’s medical school newspaper, The Scope. Using his writing abilities, he then decided to write a book to ask Lauren to marry him. After crafting an elaborate plan to get the book planted in the undergraduate bookstore, he escorted Lauren to the store and got her to buy the book. After purchase, the two went to do some reading on top of the student union. Lauren breezed through the book while Vincent stared at his internal medicine book (something about diabetic ketoacidosis – who could concentrate?) At one point, he heard Lauren start to fumble with the book. He turned around and saw her trying to get the ring out of the book ( HE HAD PUT THE RING IN THE BOOK! ). After he had gotten the ring out for her he asked her the question. She accepted. Two OB/GYN residents sitting nearby started to squeal when they saw what had happened.

Neurology
The Scope. He wrote a monthly humor column called “From Under the Editor’s Desk”. He remained at Georgetown University Medical Center for his residency in neurology.
Multiple Sclerosis
Dr. Vincent F. Macaluso is a neurologist practicing in New Hyde Park, NY.
