Tattoo Charlie's

All of my life I was against tattoo's. I didn't want anything to do with them. Then one day I met my estranged daughter who was no stranger to the art. Unbeknownst to her she inspired me to get a tattoo which I did the year prior at another shop in town. It was extremely impromptu but a good experience and ever since then I had been wanting another. I spent countless months searching for the perfect piece; artwork that was bold, colorful and would make a statement the moment you saw me and I finally found it. Money was no object.



The week prior I headed in to Tattoo Charlie's to check out their shop and make an appointment. My wife and daughter had work done there multiple times. I have to feel comfortable and like the people. Nice shop, friendly people, all with a positive attitude, and very professional. The shop is clean, the chairs in the waiting area are comfortable and there is plenty of artwork on the walls to review while waiting.



A few folks around town had recommended Jeremiah to me who is the resident custom artist. He liked the design I had brought in and definitely wanted to work with me to get it done. He estimated about three hours to complete. Great! I'll be on vacation next week!



All of Jeremiah's first appointments (they start at 12:00 PM) were booked up for a couple of weeks in advance but they do take walk-ins and he offered to take me after his noon appointment on the Tuesday of the following week which couldn't come soon enough! I was so excited!



That Tuesday finally arrived and I was up early. Grabbed some breakfast, a haircut, anything I could do to kill time until noon. I arrived as promised to get signed in (being the eager beaver that I am I was actually 20 mins early). After about forty-five minutes, Jeremiah advised that it would be a few hours and that I could stay or wait for their call at home as I lived nearby; something I found extremely accommodating. I did nothing all day but wait for that call which I received at 6:15 PM; an hour and forty-five minutes before they closed.



I was really looking forward to this but I can't fault them for it. My advice, be patient, and book well in advance. I give three stars for the kindness and professionalism. I cannot attest to anything else.



As for my eagerly anticipated and much desired artwork, I guess it wasn't meant to be.

Tattoo Charlies is the best fastest and cleanest shop I found on my trip to Louisville! they did an awesome job on my hourglass Tattoo. its been almost two years and it has never faded! love it!!

we stopped by Charlie's and the prices were ridiculous compared to other places. Watch out cause they don't do a great job

I have visited this business and had Tatoo's several times. It is exceptionally clean and they take great care in sterilizing their equipment to make sure diseases are not transferred from patron to patron. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone wanting a tatoo.
