Ear Infections
My son, who is turning 9, has gone here since birth. He’s been through a lot in his 9 years of life. Chronic ear infections leading to hearing issues were how the first 3 years were spent. I cannot say enough kind words to the office staff, nurses and doctors that work here. They actively listen to concerns and answer any/all questions. Being a single mom with a career, running late is an common side effect. If we are ever late to an appointment they are understanding and make accommodations to fit my boy in. We might have to wait a bit, but when you have a sick child, waiting is better than being turned away. At one point, early in my sons life, I switched pediatrician trying to find one closer to my home. The new office turned my son away after arriving 15 minutes late, which I did call to inform them I was running late; however when we arrived they asked me to reschedule. Ultimately it was my fault for not arriving on time, however it didn’t sit well with me. We immediately returned to Kaplan Baron after that experience. Life can be hard and cruel but when it comes to the care of children, Kaplan Barron has their priorities on point every time.
Flu Shots
This group of children should get two flu shots this season with some exceptions. If your child only had one dose last year, or if this is their first time, they will need two now.

This approach is used mainly for allergies caused by food, drugs, venom, latex and animal dander. This can also include occupational allergies, and to a lesser extent, depending on the suspected cause, asthma, rhinitis and eczema. Sports Medicine
Sports physicals are largely required by athletic leagues and schools. During this exam, the pediatrician will check your child’s vitals, joints, flexibility, and vision. This gives them an opportunity to flag down any issues that may cause injury during the season. Sports physicals should be given at least 6 weeks prior to the start of the upcoming sports season, giving the child ample time to correct any issues before the season. While a sports physical and an annual school physical have a lot in common, the sports physical does not include evaluation of the overall health of your child. Therefore, a sports physical should not replace a school physical.
