Lovely little bistro in the heart of Eagle Rock. Nice environment for time with friends. Food is good. Small parking lot in back with a larger paid lot across the way.

Overall
Comfy atmosphere and nummy food

I've only been once, but it was a perfect place for a comfortable and filling lunch. Funny that I've driven by its location in Eagle Rock a hundred times and just never thought to go in. But the seating and general atmosphere was very comfy and inviting, and my tuna melt was generously sized and extremely nummy, and served on Italian style bread. Nice pasta salad on the side as well.

I'll have to go back to try out more on their menu - I have a happy tummy today!

Dill Tuna Salad Sammich to Die For!

Do people even say "to die for" any more? No matter. When it comes to the Camilo's dill tuna salad sandwich this saying, however passe, definitely applies.

I'm not usually a fan of tuna sandwiches made at restaurants. I mean, if you're going to eat out, why not have something you can't make from a can at home? But from one of the first times I had lunch here, this particular menu item caught my eye. Finally, after trying a few other selections (and loving them all, by the way), I decided to try this sandwich. I've been absolutely hooked ever since.

There's a delicate balance to knowing just how much dill is enough, and they get it right. Also, I don't usually like cheese with tuna, but somehow the slice they put on this sammich, along with tomato, romaine and a dollop each of mayo and mustard, is simply delectable!

This selection comes with your choice of green salad or a pesto pasta salad on the side. I've had both, and I've enjoyed them equally. Another lunch favorite is the Santa Fe Chicken Salad, a nice blend of chicken, chiles, black beans tomatoes, lettuce and cotija cheese. Both of these selections are under $10 and I always end up with enough to take home for dinner, or for lunch the next day.

I've been lucky enough to enjoy several dinners here as well, including the Pork Chop Normande, which features a roasted pork chop nestled in a bed of garlic mashed potatoes and was simply delicious.

From time to time the service is a bit skittish - forgotten drinks, or a long wait for the cheque - but all in all, Camilo's a favorite of mine, a charming little slice of heaven right in the heart of Eagle Rock.
