Max City BBQ

This little bbq joint on Eagle Rock Blvd is spot-on. No reservation needed... order at the counter. We usually just get a tray o'meat and some sides, and it's all tasty (and I'm from the Midwest, so I'm picky about my 'cue). They serve beer here and usually have great tunes on. Family-friendly.

First time I visited this spot, the staff had to deal with a neighborhood drunk who wouldn't leave, and they handled it admirably. These are good people.

The food was also outstanding. Brisket was full of love. Mac was decadent. Beer selection was serviceable. Need to go back here soon.

Really cute, local place. Not a huge selection, but everything is delicious! Great selection of beers. Better pricing and food than Oinkster's in Eagle Rock, which I think has become over-hyped. There's also a barn playset for the kids that my daughter just loves to play with when we're there. Parking is limited and location to be desired (next to a liquor store), but we go for the food!
