Dental Examination
We are offering a new patient special! You will receive a Comprehensive exam, X-rays and Cleaning for $110.00! Some stipulations do apply.
X-rays
Children and adults are encouraged to see the dentist for an oral examination and cleaning every six months. These checkups include dental x-rays, teeth cleaning, flossing and any restoration treatment that’s needed. We’ll schedule your next appointment and recommend next steps.
Oral Cancer Screening
These checkups may include x-rays, periodontal screenings, cavity screenings, and, if necessary, oral cancer screenings – everything we need to make the best recommendations for your oral health.

Teeth Cleaning
A child should have his or her first dental appointment no later than his or her first birthday. Afterwards, he or she should come in every six months for a dental examination and teeth cleaning.

Dental Sealants
Our preventative dental services start with a thorough cleaning. This is important because, despite your own efforts, some plaque and bacteria always linger in impossible-to-reach places. We may also recommend dental sealants, though this is usually for our younger patients.

Fillings
Amalgam fillings have been used to treat cavities for many years. Amalgam fillings are composed of a mixture of metals (silver, copper and tin) and liquid mercury. Concern over the mercury in the amalgam fillings have been a hotly debated. At Kuna dental, we use composite resin fillings using modern dental equipment and techniques. These composite resin fillings are highly durable and are tooth colored, making them more aesthetically pleasing than amalgam fillings.

Veneers
A veneer is a thin piece of porcelain that effectively covers damage and discoloration and helps reshape and reinforce your teeth. We can use veneers to correct unevenly spaced teeth, crooked teeth, chipped and cracked teeth, and even oddly shaped teeth.
Crowns
A dental implant is the most common and effective way to replace a missing tooth. We anchor a titanium implant in your jaw, which will serve as the root for your new tooth. The bone will actually fuse to the titanium, making it as strong and durable as the rest of your teeth. The crown will fit perfectly and feel just like your natural teeth.
Bridges
A dental bridge is an effective solution for replacing missing teeth. They use the surrounding teeth to anchor the replacement, which makes this a great alternative to implants if your jaw bone is not strong enough to support them.
Dental Bonding
Whether you want to brighten your smile with teeth whitening or reshape crooked, cracked teeth, there are various cosmetic dental procedures that go above restoring and keeping your mouth healthy to enhancing the look of your smile. Common dental procedures include: teeth whitening, dental bonding, veneers, crowns and dental implants.

Root Canal Treatment
Root canal therapy, also called endodontic treatment, is a routine, restorative dental treatment that can save your tooth and prevent potentially severe damage to your gums and jaw bone. With a root canal, we’ll remove the tooth decay, clean the tooth and apply a filling or crown to protect the tooth from additional disease and infection.

In 1977, Kuna Dental opened it’s doors as the first dental practice in Kuna. Dr. Croft and Dr. Haws numerous years of experience in dentistry is coupled with genuine concern for the health of their patients. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
Dr. Haws has a BS degree in Science from BYU and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of the Pacific where he received the Salutatorian award for graduating second in his class. Dr. Haws then went on to serve in the U.S. Navy where he completed one year "Advanced Education in General Dentistry" residency providing specialized training in endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, and implant placement. While in the service Dr. Haws was deployed to southern Afghanistan where he was able to care for emergent needs of both U.S. and NATO troops involved in combat. Upon completion of his time in the military, Dr. Haws was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal for his contribution to the oral health of service members.

Orthodontics
While on active duty with the U.S. Army, he developed valuable dental skills including placing dental implants to restore missing teeth; periodontal surgeries to restore oral health in diseased tissue or as a necessary prep for other procedures; endodontic procedures; extensive surgical cases such as wisdom teeth removal, biopsies, and trauma; orthodontics; pedodontics; and overall comprehensive care of each patient.

Teeth Whitening
Despite our best efforts, certain foods and drinks (and simple age) can discolor our teeth. There are a lot of great over-the-counter products, but nothing really compares to our in-office treatments. This is a safe and effective way to brighten your smile up to 10 shades in just a single visit.

General Dentistry
Dr. James Stirland discovered his love for dentistry while attending Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where he graduated with a BS in Neuroscience. He then received his DMD at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California in 2014. After graduation from school, Dr. Stirland completed a 2-year residency in General Dentistry at Fort Hood, Texas with the U.S. Army. In 2017, he was assigned to the Last Frontier of Alaska where he expanded his scope of dentistry. Dr. Stirland ran the Army’s dental clinic at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson where he was able to manage care for over 4,000 soldiers and mentor multiple general dentists to pursue higher areas of interest.
