I purchased a parakeet from strictly feathers and my bird had his wings clipped when I got him one wing feather grew out in 3 months and the other one in 6 months, the bird was never active hardly ever chirped I think they sold me a very sick bird he just died only had him for 1 year and 3 months I would tell every one to purchase a bird at Petsmart they are so active and healthy and that's where I got my new bird.

Our daughter researched and saved her money for almost a year in order to buy a parakeet for her 10th birthday. She ended up receiving some gift cards to Petsmart so that's where she bought her cage, supplies, and her parakeet. It's been almost two months now and despite the entire family spending hours every day trying to socialize the bird (lots of reading and research went into how to do this properly), it is still "wild" and "freaks out" every time anyone comes within five feet of the cage.

On our way to Knoxville last night we noticed the sign for Strictly Feathers and stopped in to see if they might have some suggestions on how to get the bird to be friendlier. We were really disappointed when the sign said closed, as it was exactly 5:00. A nice lady, Gwen, came out of the door and asked if she could help us. After explaining the situation about the bird, she asked us into the store (after she'd already closed) and proceeded to spend 45 minutes with our 10 year old daughter (plus our 12 year old son was with us). She explained to our daughter that the bird she received is probably an older bird and may never become friendly due to the stressful environment it was in. She recommended trying to return the bird and she showed us how to recognize a young, healthy bird and how to socialize it. Gwen did not even have to let us in the door, yet she spent almost an hour of her time on her knees, eye-level with my daughter, talking calmly and gently to her, and explaining everything she needs to do to care for her parakeet.

The next step is to try to return the bird to Petsmart. If they will take it back, we will definitely return to Strictly Feathers for a new, young parakeet. Never once did she ask us to buy a bird from her. She just gave us her knowledge and time. Gwen has won our loyalty. Thank you!!!

Snotty attitude, tried to help out a small business but, I would rather give my business to someone else, she thinks she is better than you attitude.

I love Strictly Feathers.I purchased my first BIG bird from there.I am now the happy owner of a healthy Salmon Crested Moluccan Cockatoo whos name is PACO. The staff there really care for the birds.They are always busy making sure the birds are clean and fed anytime I have been in. Gwen is so very knowledgeable about anything and everything BIRD. I know that I can go to her and get the answers I need to keep my own birds happy and healthy.If you are looking for a bird to be a real part of your family, this is where you shop. Gwen will pair you with the perfect bird for YOU. Everyone is always so friendly.The birds always greet you upon entering the store and will say goodbye to you as you leave. Now THATS customer service.

Gwen, the owner, is magnificent in making sure all the birds have the needed care for a happy and healthy bird to take home. The birds for sale have a very friendly personality. A good deal of them were raised in the store, and hand fed to produce a bird that will almost instantly trust you without the fuss of months and months of training just to get it to stand on your finger. Gwen has years of knowledge about the birds she has. You can go to any other pet store and buy a bird that will never want to come out of his/her cage, or you can get one from Strictly Feathers and get one that will begin to trust you from the very first day. After visiting countless other stores, I'm positive Strictly Feathers is the first and last stop you'll ever need for anything related to pet birds.

Both strong and week points: Both the strongest AND the weakest part of this store would have to be the large selection of bird types to choose from. This not only gives you a large selection of birds, but also decreases the amount of space for other types of stock, such as food, toys, cages, and other accessories. Very convenient location (30 seconds off of 640), and competitive prices.

Everything, including both birds, that I have purchased from Strictly Feathers has been more than I could ask for. I love to look around the cage room at the end of the shop to visualize what my next bird will be living in.

over priced, nasty, unfriendly people working there. could not answer any questions i had. just wanted to sell me something and get me out of there. a girl working there was hanging all over some guy. TRY PARROT MOUNTAIN if you are looking for a good quality bird and friendly people!
