Evertime i have been there i have had excellent service. Had cancer six years ago the oncology department and dr. Stone took very good care of me I am now cancer-free and healthy. Then I had a heart problem and the Cardiology Department fix that so I am nothing but very pleased with this Hospital!

Unless I or a family member are deathly ill and have NO other choice, we will NEVER go to this hospital again! We were given inaccurate information by their staff, which caused us to incur hundreds of dollars for medical expenses that we should not have been responsible to pay. When this information was given to the hospital and charges were disputed, they indicated that their staff would not have given the information (even though they, in fact, had given misleading information) and refused to lower the fees that were charged. Again, unless I or a family member are dying and have no other choice, we will never go to this hospital again nor support it/any physicians associated with it again!

My wife had a heart catheter at St Vincent's,Riverside on 02-20-15 from the time she opened her eyes after the procedure about 4 pm until about midnight when she finally fell off to sleep she was hysterical .It was as she had a stroke, but no one could diagnose it,she does not remember any part of this.the emergency response nurse didn't know what was happening so he sent her to get a ct scan which did't show anything wrong. The next day when she woke up her mind was clearer but when she went to the restroom she noticed a bump on her buttock .After we got home I looked the bump up online and found that was a staph infection (MRCR).I noticed that in the stall she was in after the catheter was dirty there was trash on the floor in several areas . after she was sent to a room her IV monitor would alarm for 2 or 3 hours before some one would come in and reset it.My wife has had several heart catheters in the past and came out fine but this was the most horrible experience we have ever encountered

Best hospital in town

Do not go to any other hospital. St. Vincent's is simply the best. They really do care about the person not just treat the patient. Great, World Class. Thank You St. Vincent's.

The hospital is what the doctors can make of it. In October of 2010 I went in to have surgery with a vey incompetent neurosurgeon who not only left me paralyzed from neck down by his incompetence, but also lied in my medical records and never completed his job. The hospital released me after a week while I still had fever and I ended up coming back to ICU, getting intubated for weeks in semi coma. He had five malpractice cases in a two year term a few years ago and still there. This is the kind of doctors they have at St Vincent.

My Mother had a stroke and I w...

My Mother had a stroke and I wish they would have taken her to Orange Park Hospital instead. They waited too long before treatment, and the doctors there are the most arrogant, even for doctors. Trying to get information was like pulling teeth. My Mom did not survive, If she was taken somwhere else it may have been a differnt story. Find a hospital with a Stroke Center if you suspect a stroke. Stay clear of this hospital. They are not healers, they are business people.

This hospital used to be great until they decided to merge with Baptist Health; years ago. They eventually figured out that the Baptist/St. Vincent's; merger wasn't such a smart idea but not until after the influence of Baptist Health; had taken quite a toll. Please be patient with St. Vincent's. They did recognise the error and are trying their best to pick up the pieces and salvage what's left of their reputation.

Overall
they get one star only because i cannot give less

From check in to pre-op flight deck and certainly in the main hospital after the surgery was over, there were issues all around. The ONLY reason we went to St V was because our Dr was only working out of there.

This firm is nothing more then a group of self absorbed, customer insensitive and frankly just totally understaffed, except for Managers - lots of managers - don't do anything - but lots of them - (one young, thin, blond manager was genuinely horrified when we told her the story 1/2 way thru the ordeal) this hospital has missed the mark.

Being given blood splattered used urinals with traces of urine in it (not my urine) or ones with literally bugs inside (either crabs or infant silverfish); the nurse took the bug infested urinal - opened the cap and shook it on my room floor!!! This should be the worse of stuff encountered I wish!!! BTW the bugs were smarter then the 'nurse' and refused to jump, the night nurse wiped the urine on my food tray with a tissue from my hospital issue tissue box - I eat off this tray!!!!

Fecal stained sheets that were never changed until my wife changed them - same with the garbage cans- dust and dirt bunnies everywhere. As soon as i lifted my sock covered feet onto the bed the amount of dirt transferred was massive.

Being denied meds within 12 hours of surgery for 5 hours because the shift change nurse wanted to make sure an "I" was dotted or a "T" crossed??? I NEVER have i cried so much. I am a 55 yr old male and i cried more in the first 48 hrs of checking in there then i had in the last 40 years of my life.

My demand that they call an ambulance to get me to Baptist South for my recovery (after no pain meds for 5+hrs etc) precipitated in a meeting with 3 manager's, my Dr and the nurse that decided that I needed to wait for meds - was all about getting the patient on the proper page of the book. Always good to B*&^% slap your customer if they don't appreciate the special kind of service you are giving out I guess.

This could go on for hours here but i wont. the PT ladies were FABULOUS from beginning to end - without them i would never have gotten out of bed and out of there. about 1/2 of the nurses and aides that actually READ my chart and understood my special needs were obvious. Jay and John at check in were great (imagine 4 hours after checking in b4 you ever see another person- (OH and it is 1.5 hrs after the scheduled surgery) . Most however saw the red letter or whatever special code marker that they put on my chart and ignored me with impunity. I had a 4 hr operation - over $200K for the hospital and i actually have some insurance for a 4 day procedure. I assume that i was a profitable account. I had weekly, Day, and Night help as well as weekend 1st and 3rd shift folks - so a good mix of all employees. Very sub-rate
