Listing shows him as MD, but supposedly is a D.O., osteopathic physician. Sought out Dr Spisak because of being an osteopathic physician and was a patient for several years. All was okay so long as I long term issues didn't flare. I went to all regular three month reviews to maintain standard medications for asthma, heart, etc., and was never late and we communicated well. Did refuse an appointment nurse set with doctor other than I had agreed to see. Thought this physician cared for the patients, but was bluntly brought to reality after hospitalized with double pneumonia and asthma flared. The hospitalist wanted to ensure that Dr. Spisak would see me within two days of release. However, I would not be allowed to see Dr Spisak or obtain needed medications for at least nine days, even though still struggling with breathing. Each scheduler and nurse was told of urgency, hospitalists contact with Dr. Spisak and that I was out of heart and other medications. On third conversation, nurse called to lie saying they didn't know I was having trouble breathing, even though it was evident and had been stated. Medicare and Insurance got to pay for another emergency trip thanks to this practice.

If you have fair health and believe yourself invincible then this is the practice for you. As I'd brought other patients, whom I drove to appointments for years, this practice sent them a letter they were no longer a patient when they had to cancel as I was hospitalized. Fortunately, reception booked an appointment and someone drove them to the appointment the day before the letter was delivered and hopefully now they are being seen. Still sad that this office reacted in such a pathetic manner toward another individual when upset with me after I told them I would find a physician who had more compassion.

Skyline Hospital must condone the attitudes of this practice that can turn such deafness to a long term patient, especially knowing that the patient had never had an emergency during those years. Perhaps the nurses make all the decisions regarding this practice. Either way, you won't see the doctor outside routine reviews for renewing meds. Realizing that Skyline is a TriStar hospital, I'm so thankful that the Centennial physicians and staff did not react in the same manner as Skyline Family Practice. This certainly was not what I'd experienced in more than 30 years with my former Osteopathic physician.
