TRUE FACTS RE KRISTY Q:

Mr. Defamator:

First of all, you must either be bored out of your mind and have nothing better to do than defaming your competitors, including Kristy Qiu-Miceli, month after month.

Second, only because a business is new, it does not mean that the owner or personnel of the business are inexperienced or don't know what they're doing. Here are the true facts concerning Kristy Qiu:

She learned her litigation/arbitration skills from Freshfields, Bruckhaus, Deringer while in law school. Freshfields is an international law firm that specializes in investment arbitrations, and the best in the field. To entertain your ignorance, investment arbitrations are commenced when a company who has made a muitl-million investment in a developing country according to an international treaty sues the developing country for breach of said treaty. In other words, they represent COUNTRIES, or multi-billion companies who sue treaty breaching countries.

Between law school and the beginning of her own practice, she worked for Dechert, LLP, a top 10 international law firm with offices in over 20 countries. Mind you she is a very rare talent, she is licensed to practice law in 3 different states, Florida being the latest, and speaks 5 different languages fluently, she is also the daughter of an ex diplomat with vast bisiness connections.

Besides her own law firm, she currently works as a consultant with specialized knowledge in Akerman Senterfitt, a top ranked nationwide law firm, also the largest in the state of Florida. Send her an email if you'd like - kristy.mengjunqiu@akerman.com, or call Akerman Miami and ask for consultant Kristy Qiu on the 28th floor.

I hope you realize that you're insulting no less than 98% of the world's population by calling Kristy Qiu "unenlightened," as she has been a member of good standing of Mensa - an elite organization for qualified individuals with top 2% of IQ, since age 15. Her IQ is north of 180, higher than that of President Clinton. With normal IQ being 80 - 110, she is considered a genius. You can check her membership status and qualification score with Mensa - member number 100131344.

Also, next time you board a BOEING aircraft, consider this: a "simple minded" person such as Kristy Qiu worked on the lifespan extension project of the 737 series aircrafts, an air fleet scheduled to retire in the first decade of 2000, since 2nd year of college. She also worked on the sophisticated aerodynamics of the new 787 Dreamliner between graduation of college and law school. BOEING holds 4 patents that she helped develop. In case you did not know, she was an engineer, one of the brightest and most innovative. If you find her simple minded and unenlightened for your taste, perhaps it's in your best interest to avoid these BOEING aircrafts. The same goes to all the readers who took your advice to stay away from Kristy Qiu.

Contrary to your contention, she is anything but desperate for consumer clients, otherwise she wouldn't be charging as little as she does per case. She is busy enough in Akerman Senterfitt and with her industrial clients - including power plants in Latin America, investors and manufacturers in the alternative energy sector, and medical device manufacturers from China. She only takes bankruptcy and immigration cases out of the goodness of her heart, she helped countless Haitian nationals who fell victims of the 2010 earthquake FOR FREE. She is the kindest, most competent, ethical, and caring attorney I have ever met. She turned away many clients who do not need bankruptcy because they're judgment proof, and many more with fraudulent/frivolous intentions. If she were desperate like yourself I'm certain she would have taken all of those cases and charged them an exorbitant fee. What kind of person would bash my mentor like you month after month is beyond my comprehension.

Overall
Very good lawyer.

I'm a satisfied customer. She was recommended by my wife's friends, they said she's the best & nicest. When I saw her picture I was reluctant to go see her bc she looks so young. I went to see other well established lawyers, they only shaked my hand & gave my case to their younger lawyers, in some cases only paralegals. I thought to myself if my case will be handled by some young person, I rather have a young person w/ her own good reputation as a lawyer, instead of a young person who hides behind the reputation of an older lawyer who won't be touching my file, or worse, possibly a none lawyer. That's when I went to kristy. She turned out to be a young lawyer who knows what she's doing like the back of her hand, and she is married to 1 of the miami trustees. My questions were answered right away instead of the "eeehhhh" answers that I got from those well established lawyers' associates. I asked how she knows so much at such a young age, turns out she worked for the biggest law firms in the country and she learned from a huge bankruptcy treatise that judges rely on. I really didn't care how she learned it as long as she knows what she's doing, & she does. I'm overall satisfied & happy.

She made a miracle happen.

I have been illegal since I was 4, I have been using a fake ID since I was 18. I was brought here against my will. This country is all I know. I was stopped by coast guard on my friend's boat. It didn't hit me that I could have been deported until ICE told me I was pretty much done. I was so worried about my children, what would happen to them if I was deported? Their father left me I couldn't even find him. I thought the govenrment would put them up for adoption or send them to orphanage. I was so stressed I half of my hair turned white in the matter of weeks. Thanks to Kristy not only do I not be deported, I am now legal and most importantly I will not be separated from my children. Kristy kept my family whole, I cannot thank her enough.

I'm thankful of Kristy. I came to this country w/ a dream to achieve great things. A wrong turn almost costed me my life here, everything I had and everything I knew. Thanks to Kristy I got back on track and could start a new life w/ those I love and I care about. She has saved more than just myself, she saved my whole family. I don't care what other people say about her, my experience w/ her has been greater than great. That's all I know and that's all I have to say. Thank you Kristy, xie xie nin, merci beaucoup!

First of all, Kristy is the best attorney and the only one that I would use for all my legal needs.

Second, the rest of this message is directed at SmarterThanJackAss. Sir, for your information, Kristy Qiu does not need to make easy buck on the shoulders of you poor "victims" of this horrible economy. She has enough wealthy clients from Colombia, Venezuela and Brazil like me who trade with Chinese companies through the US that need her help with multi-million dollar contracts, litigations and arbitrations to keep her busy. My last semi-monthly legal bill from her was more than $8,000 and I paid it gladly. She does bankruptcy on the side out of goodness of her heart, she doesn't even charge her clients 50% of what you would charge yours. If you really have access to her files, why don't you see how much she charges and how many pro bono cases in bankruptcy and immigration she has done so far. I bet more than you in your 20 years of practice. Shame on you! I pity you, for you, a "veteran", obviously fear her, a "newbee", enough to keep defaming her month after month.

I want to point out that Kristy is the most honest person I have met and I also want to point out that she has helped me tremendously. I also want to point out that I'm NOT a bankruptcy client, Kristy helped me with contract work. Bankruptcy is NOT the only thing she does. The review below me is posted by a person like clockwork, he/she posts the review on the 5th of every month, it's like he/she has a reminder set up or something. Reading it got my blood boiling. How someone can be so jealous of someone so honest and sweet is a mystery to me. I pity him for having nothing better to do other than bash a new attorney who is trying to make an honest living.

I agree that Dr. Q is a honest and trustworthy atorny. She made all my problems go away. I have nothing bad and only a lot of good things to say about her. Her confidence is spilling out of every word she sais. You won't be disappointed with her, you will only be happy and wish you know her sooner.

Dr Kristy is trustworthy, honest and greatest. She is most honest, knowledgeable and sincere. She rather tell you the truth about your case instead of promising you the world then disappoint you. She's honest because she would never lie to you. If she doesn't know or is not sure about something, she tells you straight, she never guesses for an answer and she never misleads you. In my case for example she said she didn't know what would happen in one of the minor issues I had and she asked if it's ok for her to do some research before I sign up to hire her, no charge at all. I said sure. Few days later she gave me an answer, showed me the result of her research, I was happy and I hired her as my lawyer. Everything worked out as she predicted after a careful research, and I could not be happier. She is a trustworthy and honest lawyer.

She saved my life, literally. I owe her thousands of thanks and don't know if I will ever be able to repay her kindness and support. I know I had a very tricky case, when other attorneys and even legal aid turned down my case, she accepted it and ensured me that everything would be ok. She's like my guardian angel, always looking out for my best interest. I don't know how else to thank her but to let as many people as possible know that she is the best and kindest attorney anyone can ever meet, she will fight for your rights and she will deliver everything she promises.

She helped me with my adjustment of status for immigration and I'm a satisfied customer. I did some research online on the US immigration website, they say it takes from 7 to 12 months for adjustment of status normally, and in some cases it can take up to 24 months. I don't know how she did it, I was interviewed after 3 months and received my green card in shorter than 4 months after she sent in the applications for me. I have no doubt she's a miracle worker for a lawyer.

I trusted her to draft my 5 millions and up sales contracts, why can't you?

I'm an investor doing business with Chinese companies in China. All my contracts Are over 5 millions USD. Dr. Q has been drafting all of them since my business started to pour in 2009. She also settled a personal dispute for me when everyone else told me that i was SOL. I like Dr. Q's work, i trust her work, she never steered me wrong, and i will continue to use her for all my business contracts and disputes. I didn't know she handles bankruptcy cases also, but i hope i never need her help in that area. But if my luck gos south and i need her help, i wouldn't hesitate to call her.

Most awesome lawyer ever. Not ...

Most awesome lawyer ever. Not only did she handle my bankruptcy case well, she filed a bar grievance action on my behalf for free against another attorney who tried to screw me. The previous attorney charged me $4,600 upfront for a chapter 13 case. I only met with the paralegals. 3 Months later they didn't start working on my case, but claimed that they filed it already. Creditors kept calling me, asking me for the case number. I called my previous attorney's office, she was never present, and her staff kept telling me she was the only one who knew the case number. I went to the court myself, the clerk told me all she could see was a case filed in 1993. On top of that that incompetent attorney filed a suggestion of bankruptcy without filing my bankruptcy case first to stop a foreclosure. The state court judge found out that no bankruptcy case was filed, and imposed a sanction against my previous attorney. I asked for a refund she wouldn't give it to me, she insisted that the retainer was none refundable. I talked to Kristy, she took my bankruptcy case, filed it the week after, and started a bar grievance action against my former attorney for free. That lawyer? Her license was suspended for authorizing her paralegals run her office for her, basically unauthorized practice of law, over charging the $3,600 limit that the bankruptcy court in Florida allowed without justification, and she received a penalty of $20,000. I wouldn't be surprised if people placing bad reviews on this website is my previous attorney. Actually I'm pretty sure it is her.

Saludos!

Kristy is very kind and very c...

Kristy is very kind and very caring. She was recommended to me by my personal injury lawyer. I had another bankruptcy lawyer before, but that relationship didn't end well. I had a personal injury case pending for about 2 years. I had to consider bankruptcy bc my PI lawyer told me half way through the case that the chances didn't look good for me, in case I lose, they would pin their lawyer's fees on me, it'd be over 10,000 that I didn't have. I started seeing a big shot lawyer down in Coral Gables, I started paying my downpayment and paid the $2,200 plus $299 filing fees completely. Before my payment was made in full, they refused to answer my questions. OK, my payment was finally made in full, but I told them to hold on to filing bc I needed to wait for the outcome of my PI case. They said sure. Meanwhile they still wouldn't answer my questions bc they said I can ask them when I'm ready to file my case. 4 months later I received a letter saying that since there was an inactivity in my case for over 3 months, I have forfeited the fees that I already paid and they closed my file and my relationship with them terminated just like that. I called them many many times and explained that when I saw the lawyer in the office she knew what was going on and knew why I couldn't file right away. They refused to refund any part of the $2,200 plus $299 filing fee that I paid. I was very angry. I thought this couldn't be right. I called many bankruptcy lawyers that I found on the internet, turns out almost every single bankruptcy lawyer does the same thing, if you pay them and at the end don't want to hire them any more, they keep your money. I was convinced that all bankruptcy lawyers are crooks. I told my PI lawyer about this and that's when he told me about Kristy. He said her fees are much lower than my previous lawyer and if I pay her in installments, I wouldn't risk losing what I pay her bc she allows refunding money to clients before she actually does any work on a client. My PI lawyer is a very trustworthy guy and I trusted him, so I went to see Kristy. She is so kind and so caring, she answered all my questions in the first appointment and was concerned about my well being. From the way she spoke and the way she conveyed herself, I could tell that she was confident and knew the law very well, sometimes she would know what I was asking before I even finished the question. I called her back few times to ask additional questions and she always gave me a satisfying answer every time. She really gave me peace of mind. Just today, I received good news that my PI case was settled and I won't have to pay the attorney's fees. I was so relief. I called Kristy, she congratulated me, and the first thing that she said was that she will refund me all the money that I paid her (minus $100 to reimburse her costs of opening files and printing, copying) bc I won't need bankruptcy any more and it will work against me if I file for bankruptcy after receiving the large settlement. I feel so bad that I bothered her so much and she gave me all the good advices and wasted her time seeing me few times for free. I told her she can keep half of what I paid her and she insisted that she will give me a full refund. She said to me she understands that I considered bankruptcy bc I was in financial ruins. She's here to help me, not to put me in further ruin. It's unfair for her to keep my hard earned money when she hasn't done any work on my file yet. She is very right. I was so moved. I told her I will recommend all my friends and family to her and I will spread words of her kindness around. So here I am, spreading words of her kindness and wishing her the best luck in the future. :-)

I have thought about filing fo...

I have thought about filing for bankruptcy for over 5 years now. I have been struggling but am very afraid of the consequences and did a lot of research on my own. I also watch a Spanish Bankruptcy show on AmericaTeVe on a regular basis. I first went to that attorney, and other attorneys who claim to have over 15, 20 years of experience. Not only did they not treat me with respect, I felt like I was taking too much of their time after 15 min of conversation. They passed me on to their paralegals and asked me to fill out a bunch of paper work without answering any of my questions. I refused to pay these petition factories my monthly salary when I was not even satisfied with the service I have received. I found Kristy on a Spanish newspaper. At first I was skeptical to call her because of her young age, so I asked her tricky questions that learned from the Spanish bankruptcy show on purpose to see how she would handle it. She has proved me wrong completely. Not only did she answer every one of my questions, she was able to point out to me on the bankruptcy code which section had the answer to my question very quickly, which I doubt many practicing attorneys can do. I was very impressed. At the meeting of the creditors, while the trustee was dissatisfied with information submitted by many attorneys (late submission, incomplete submission, wrong file submitted and other issues) he did not seem to have the same problem with Kristy, he only asked me 3 questions and my meeting was over. I am now awaiting for my order of discharge. I am very satisfied with Kristy's service and although I hope I won't need a bankruptcy attorney ever again, I will recommend her to anyone I know that needs help, and also will hire her for any of my future legal problems.

Sincerely,

Nelson

I found Kristy on AVVO and Law QA. I go to those sites very often to post questions about my own situation and to see what other people say about theirs. She was the first attorney to answer a question that I posted. SInce then, I have been following her answers on those sites. She's usually the 1st or 2nd attorney to answer other people's questions. When I saw that her answers matched what other attorneys that posted answers after hers said, I decided that she knows that she's talking about and went in to see her. Turns out she is very personable and knowledgeable. She never hesitates when she answers a question, you can tell that the answer just came very naturally and she's knowledgeable and confident when she gives an answer. And she didn't hesitate to tell me that she has never faced a certain situation before and does not have an answer for me at the moment but she would find out. I said why not, it doesn't cost me anything. Two days later she gave me an answer, I verified it with other attorneys on AVVO, and I decided to sign up with her. I just had my meeting of creditors and the trustee only asked me 3 simple questions as supposed to 20 to others that were there. I am now awaiting my order of discharge and I think I made the right call for going to see Kristy.

This lawyer is a JOKE!! do NOT believe the prior reviews. Ms. Qiu doesn't have a CLUE what she is doing. I hired her for my bankruptcy case, and every time I asked her any question, it seemed like she was guessing as to the answer. Every time!! When checked out her experience, guess what I learned... She has none!! This woman has just recently started practicing bankruptcy law, so when you see those obviously phony reviews for her, don't believe them! Nice try Kristy. Instead of trying to make up for your lack of experience by posting phony reviews for yourself on the internet, why not try this on for size -- Learn what you are doing before going out into the legal world and taking your clients money to fund your legal education!! One piece of advice for all: STAY AWAY FROM HER!

claimed iconBusiness Response10/03/2011

Sorry I'm not Kristy Qiu, I'm a customer of hers. I would like to defend her however and the only way to respond to this review is to respond as the owner of the business. I want to point out that only because a business is new, doesn't necessarily mean that the owner or the staff in that business is inexperienced. Did you know that Kristy Qiu worked for Dechert and Akerman Senterfitt? Dechert is a top 10 global law firm and Akerman Senterfitt is the largest law firm in the state of Florida. She is also licensed in the state of New Jersey and Washington D.C. prior to her bar admission to Florida. Also, I'm a court certified translator, I have many clerk friends. I asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and they told me that the only way to find out how many bankruptcy cases a lawyer has filed is through a paid service only, and access is granted only to lawyers or their paralegals after they take a short course and pass an exam. There is no way for the general public to find this information. Obviously this person is either a lawyer or a paralegal, someone who has a personal vendetta against Kristy Qiu, is jealous, or feel threatened by her existence. If he/she feels threatened, you may want to ask why, maybe because Kristy Qiu is stealing customers from them and they are unhappy. There is no reason to believe this person at all.

This listing has been claimed by a business representative.

Thanks to Kristy I'm free. I feel like a new person after bankruptcy. It is not scary at all and it is a fresh start for me and my family. I no longer have to fear the haunting calls of my creditors or how to pay my past due bills. Kristy made bankruptcy simple and easy. I thought the process is annoying and long, but besides taking some 30 minutes online courses and going to meet with the trustee once, I didn't have to do a thing. I paid Kristy, gave her all the documents she asked for, went to court once, didn't have to do anything else, before I know, all my debts were discharged. I hope I never need legal help again, in case I do, I know who to call.
