I'll just give a synopsis of my experience and let you be the judge. I called and scheduled an appointment for a straightforward drain cleaning. My main line frequently has roots which impede the flow of water and need to be cut out. I need this done about once per year. Now the synopsis:



Appointment setter gave me a misleading and unrealistic figure of "starting at $99 to get the water flowing." They then sent a plumber who pulled out "the book" and quoted me $562 to pull the toilet and snake the line. This amount is 3x the amount I've ever paid for this service with various other local plumbers. I then politely declined the service. He then charged me $69.00 for coming. Mislead me with a quote, show up and give an outrageous quote, then charge me when I decline? Professional? You be the judge.

Ridiculous pricing, and when they come over they try break out the book. Every service and part is in the book and you end up spending as much time getting pitched into buying the service contract to get better pricing out of the book. Crazy! Once they get to doing the work it's fine but overpriced as could be. I can't recommend them.

Do not use them. $1300 to install a toilet (labor only) and $925 to install a pedestal sink (labor only). THey tried charging $69 for the quote (i didn't pay it.) Highway robbery. they will not give price quotes over the phone, i never would have wasted our time having them come.

Thorton and Grooms knows their stuff. But they are VERY expensive and their estimates

tend to be vauge. I am sure they will do a good job but its gonna cost you more than the rest.
