Excelsior Springs Hospital

I was treated immediately and they could not have been nicer and understanding. I was seen quickly, and taken care of just as quick.
I was suffering from a severe anxiety attack and they whisked me right in and I was taken care of and out of there within an hour.

Im very surprised,by reading these reviews. I hurt my back today 9/29/2016. From the minute I walked into the door, I received excellent care the doctor Dr. Danny Bartlett was amazing, he took his time didn't rush out, was very concerned about me. The nurse Sammy, was amazing checking on me constantly to make sure I was doing better, This is the first time, I had ever been there, by far one of the best experiences I've ever had and a emergency room, would definitely go back there before I would go to St Luke's or any other Hospital.

While visiting Family and Friends in Excelsior Springs, Missouri my son had to visit the ER in September 2012. My Son is 20 yrs old on unemployment. He inquired about financial assistance to help him pay his bill. Someone in the billing department said he could not qualify unless he lived in the Excelsior area or had a family doctor who works within the network. My son is unemployed with a fixed income, and is overqualified for Medicaid. Wanting to do the responsible thing he tried to work out a payment arrangement with the Hospital. Billing said he would have to have the complete bill paid off 12 months from the original statement date. If it was not paid within this time frame they would send the remainder balance to collections. They do not care if you have made an honest effort to pay the bill off. It is not realistic for someone on such a fixed income to full fill this large of an obligation. He may be able to pay $20 a month at best. Why would anyone care to make any payment to the hospital if they insist on sending the remainder balance to collections. His credit will be ruined based on his financial ability to pay back his debt to this hospital. According to billing this was a BOARD decision with the new hospital board. Apparently the hospital board decided that "any" balance left after 12 months be sent automatically to collections. I would recommend you take a little longer drive and visit a hospital that cares about the community, Liberty Hospital. I wish he would have.
