I would never go to this place again EVER I went last nite that service was great and food was excellent as me and my date putting tha rest of our meal in that to go boxes what crawls across tha table a damn ROACH I couldn't believe it so as u know we got up and left IH I did tip tha waiter cause he still did a great job on his part but don't go eat there there are nasty Imma have fox 2 pay them a visit lol

I wish we would have seen the roach before we finished our food.



To eat there, you have to overlook so much. Like the horrid smell, the awful floor, the bad lighting, and the rooms that obviously are not kept up with. If you make through all of that, and have the food, it almost seems worth it. The food was good.



But when the roach crawling up the wall was spotted by my fiance, we were done. I will never step foot back that place.

service was awesome! our waitress, Natalia who was ALL decked out for St.Pattys day was great! food hit the spot!!

Very dissapointed! Some friends took me there for my Birthday, we were seated in a small room at a table in the back we could barely get in seats. The place was very outdated and dirty looking. We had placed our order and wating on food to arrive when a cockroach ran across the table, I smashed it with the salt shaker we ask to be moved to a diffrent table and told the manager about the cockroches he laughed it off he did make any apology! we were seated at diffrent table we had to ask for silverware,water,chips, service was bad no one came see if we were alright if we needed anything. I had not been here for few years and I will not got back again!!! I did not eat my food for fear of not knowing how dirty the kitchen is we paid the bill and left hungry.

I have been eating at xochimilco restaurant for over 16 years and beleive me this is some goood food. Fast service and good food in one place is a match. Its plenty of mexican restaurant in this same area and I have tried my fair share of them but, always back at this one. This is the best. Believe me I'm picky.

Xochimilco is hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Michigan. I have been eating at Xochimilco's for over 16 years and still, no other Mexican resturant compares. We live in Canton. We have several Mexican resturants within walking distance or short driving distances. These resturants are pretty good. However, we still drive to Southwest Detroit everytime we want Mexican food. The drinks, the amount of food and the pure deliciousness is worth it.

Food is great, authentic, price is right

I don't know where to begin here, but this is the big Mexican restaurant in Southwest Detroit by which all the others are judged ! It's my favorite of the 20 or so that I visit, and deservedly so. Two floors, and it gets really crowded on the weekend, but you can wait at the bar upstairs with a Margarita or a Dos Equis and a shot of Sauza. There are many things that I could mention, but consistency leaps to mind. In all the years since 1978 that I have visited this place, I can only remember having one or two bad experiences. The place is a little dark, and a little loud sometimes, but that is tempered with hot tortilla chips fresh from the fryer, better than average Margaritas, again better than average service, and many outstanding dishes. I'd be shirking my duties as a reviewer not to mention the Tacos Al Carbon, marinated steak tacos served with chopped tomatoes, onions, and diced jalapenos. The corn tortilla is just fried in oil until very hot, not crunchy, and you need to ask for them double wrapped. They are arguably the best entre in Mexicantown !



You really can't go wrong here, no matter what you order. The Botana is a meal, not an appetizer, and a delicious array of fresh vegetables loaded on top of thick refried beans on chips covered with a generous amount of melted cheese. They don't skimp on the portions here ! The Enchiladas, Quesidillas, and Chimichangas are worth a stop too, not to mention the Fajitas or skirt steaks. Go NOW....if you don't like it I'll buy :D...Tom

Everytime I eat at the restaurant, the service is always extremely good and the food is always fast. The nacho chips are complimentary and they are nice and hot. It comes with mild and hot taco sauce.
