Teeth Cleaning
A professional teeth cleaning every six months is encouraged and sufficient for helping most patients keep their teeth clean, their gums healthy, and their breath fresh. Despite excellent oral hygiene home care, buildup can still develop under the gums and is difficult to remove with toothbrush and floss. At Paragon Dentistry, we utilize the latest technologies in dentistry to deliver a comfortable, yet thorough teeth cleaning experience.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride toothpaste is the easiest way to expose teeth to fluoride, but studies have shown that multiple sources of fluoride produce the greatest benefit. There are a number of gels, mouth rinses, and in-office fluoride treatments available that offer additional exposure when needed.
Dental Sealants
Sealants also work to protect teeth against decay. The chewing surfaces of our back teeth contain many deep grooves. The more grooves that are present, the more surface area there is for bacteria to colonize upon. Sealants serve to eliminate this problem by creating a physical defense barrier against cavities when applied to the chewing surfaces of back teeth where food particles can get stuck. Application of dental sealants is fast and comfortable. The tooth requiring the dental sealant is first cleaned thoroughly to remove all bacteria; afterward, the white, liquid sealant material is carefully bonded in the grooves of the tooth and light activated to its final hardened state. This procedure is non-invasive and offersÂ years of protection for children’s and adults’ teeth alike.

Fillings
Resin Composite
Tooth-colored dental fillings, or composite resin fillings, look and feel natural in the mouth. After being placed, the tooth-colored material is hardened with a special light before the surface is shaped and polished.
Veneers
When it comes to veneers for teeth, there are a variety of options. Traditional porcelain veneers are thin, custom-designed casings that go on the front of teeth to change their shape, color, or general appearance in essentially any way you want.
Crowns
The teeth on either side of the gap being bridged serve as anchor or abutment teeth, with crowns placed on each to connect the bridge.

Root Canal Treatment
Root canal therapy is one of the most delicate procedures in dentistry and requires a high degree of precision. When we perform endodontic treatment, also known as root canal therapy, proper tooth isolation from saliva and other contaminants is crucial for successful treatment. To achieve this necessary sterile environment, a rubber dam will be utilized to separate the affected tooth from the rest of the oral cavity. After a rubber dam is placed, only the tooth receiving the root canal therapy will be exposed; your tongue, gums, and the rest of your teeth will be under the rubber dam.

Deep Cleaning
The image in Figure 1 reveals healthy bone levels, as depicted by the white arrows. Figure 2 reveals x-rays of a patient with gum disease. Notice how the bone levels are much lower as a consequence of bone loss and more root surfaces are exposed. The red lines in Figure 2 actually depict the amount of bone loss, as these surfaces are supposed to be fully covered by bone (as in Figure 1). The deep cleaning procedure will target these exposed root surfaces under the gums and remove plaque, tartar, and all bacteria associated with these surfaces. If these exposed tooth surfaces are not thoroughly deep cleaned, the bacteria colonizing these areas will continue to cause further bone loss. The more bone that is lost, the looser the teeth become.
