Carlito's Cafe Yukon

I would have to say the worst lunch experience I have ever had. I have never really had a bad lunch experience I would say maybe a few annoying ones, but nothing like this. I have never written a review before but this experience made my blood boil. The girls from my office and I decided to go to Carlitos Caf in Yukon, what a huge mistake it was. I should have known it was not going to go very well when we had to wait at least five minutes just to get someone to seat us, while another lady was standing their waiting just to check out. We finally were seated and were asked for our order. While standing at the front waiting I noticed a mark and wipe board that had specials listed. Since it was Monday the Monday special listed caught my eye Enchiladas beef, cheese or chicken with rice and beans for $7.99. I decided that is what I wanted enchiladas and I never opened the menu to look at other options that were available inside the menu. I flipped the menu upside down which showed the lunch menu options. I looked at the lunch menu enchiladas and they were marked $8.99. It seemed to me that I was getting a slight discount for ordering the special. One of my co-workers was having a problem with her food the staff was confused to which sauce to put on her carne asadas. We begin to notice that people who came in after us already had their food before we did. Service was very very slow for lunch. Then it came time for the bill they decided that they were going to charge me $12.99 for my chicken enchiladas. I asked them why they were $12.99 and they said that was what I ordered. I told them no, that I ordered the enchiladas that were listed on the special; they told me that those specials were only for dinner. I told them that it doesnt say dinner only on the sign. That waiter went and got another waiter who told me that I ordered the dinner serving and I told him that I did not order the dinner serving that I thought I was getting the special which was $7.99 and even if they werent honoring that price they are listed for $8.99 on the lunch menu. The second waiter went up front to talk to another person and came back saying that they would see if they could do anything for me. That annoyed me even more. I had pointed to what I wanted on the lunch menu how could it be so confusing, if I had ordered from inside the menu I would have opened it and pointed to what I wanted like I do everywhere else. I go up to pay and I am questioned a third time, this time I was told that I ordered fajita chicken in my enchilada. I was never asked what kind of chicken; I actually prefer shredded and had even made the comment to my co-workers that my meat was not shredded. After being questioned over and over they finally agreed to charge me the $7.99. I also wanted to mention that they pulled the same stunt on a lady at another table; she thought it was a different price and they charged her the $12.99 as well. She paid it. Be careful what you order from this place and always check your prices. I will never return to this place, the service was slow, the food was tasteless and bland, the waiters were confused, and the manager was rude. Save your money and go somewhere else.

My family and I don't go often but when we do the food and service is always great! The food is delicious, and their menu is a little different than other Mexican restaurant, and I like that.

Worst place I've ever been to. Food is terrible and most definetly WAY overpriced! I ordered kids meals for 11 year olds and was basically forced to pay adult price...which they barely ate their $11 meals because they were disgusting! When I talked to the owner she did not want to listen, I was willing to pay but wanted her to know we were not happy with our experience, she ended up offering a $3 discount which was a joke but I signed my receipt and left...communicating with anyone here was very challenging, I later realized she had actually charged my card full price. Such a terrible way to do business....but she did a great job of losing business!! We thought this place was worth a try but we were sadly mistaken. I knew better! Alfredo's from now on...much better Mexican food for a fair price! And they don't force u to purchase adult meals for kids who won't eat that much! I will never return to this horrible place!

This is not the place it used to be...the food has really gone downhill and the service was terrible. If they had been busy it would have really been a joke. The lady at the register was to busy talking on the phone or feeding her face to help anyone. There are better places in Yukon at a better price. Do yourself a favor and avoid this restaurant. Great food and Service!

Dean & I love this food. We moved to Yukon and my realtor, Martha Vasquez, told us about this restaurant. Very affordable, lots of food and great!The building is not attractive but don't let that stop you from enjoying this Mexican food.
