Overall a very positive experience- Very informative, non pushy sales people. I shopped around but at the end this was the place to buy for many reasons.

Fischer Honda is best represented by their recent advertising campaign. The dealership sent out a flyer with a "lottery ticket" glued to the front. You are led to believe that you have won $5000 with your winning combination of triple 7s. The fine print on the inside of the flyer is confusing, deceptive, and misleading...a very good representation of the dealership itself. I especially felt bad for the dozens of people wasting their lunch break thinking they were winner, and it was especially shameful to see one car dealer struggling to explain to an elderly couple why they actually hadn't won the $5000. The dealership knew exactly what they were doing, and this speaks a lot to the management and ownership.

Overall, please avoid Fischer Honda dealership in Ypsilanti due to its dishonesty and obvious willingness to waster people's time with deceptive gimmicks. Fischer Honda's facilities are also unimpressive and the selection of cars is minimal. Go 15 minutes further west to Germain Honda in Ann Arbor where the representatives are polite, informative, and honest.

I brought my car in for a 100k...

I brought my car in for a 100k mile service and because the check engine light was on. My girlfriend went with me to drop off my car. Neither her nor I enjoyed the sexist comments the clerk made toward her. When I picked it up, the check engine light was still on and nothing was said about why. I assumed they forgot to turn it off. I drove it back, and the clerk asked if it was on when I first dropped it off. He finally ran the check on it and told me about the various things wrong. Instead of telling me to bring it back in, he gave me vague instructions on how to fix it myself. I will not be taking my car back here. Awful customer service.

Overall

I went in for a general safety check (I bought the $300 package) before a long trip, and was told that my (previously very reliable) '98 Honda Accord had some very serious problems. I was told that the brakes were about to completely give out, and that my ball joint and stabilizer links were about to snap, which would, it was explained to me, cause my car to collapse as I was driving it. The total recommended repairs would have cost around $1900, which I could not afford. I was told the brakes were urgent, so I had them repaired - they completely replaced the brake shoes, as well as the pads. My bill for my single visit was $824.79, nearly two months rent. I ended up asking my Honda dealership back in my hometown about the repairs, and they were furious (they were the ones who had previously serviced my car.) According to Honda's own experts, I got fleeced. At most my brake pads would have needed replacing, but completely replacing the whole brake shoe system was almost certainly unnecessary. What's more, I just took my car to another (well-reviewed) mechanic in town for a through safety check, and was told that the car was in great shape and did not need any work on the ball joint, stabilizer links, etc. They seemed surprised that I had even asked. Also, with all the work Fischer Honda did on my brakes, my brake fluid was so low that my e-brake light came on every time I went up a hill. My receipt shows "brake fluid replaced" - I shouldn't need it replaced again less than three months later! Bottom line, Fischer Honda took me for a fool, and I paid for it. Don't let it happen to you!

Great Service

My Subaru was recently at Fischer for service. They are fast! It's obvious the service department is there to take care of the customer. They do a great job at a very fair price.

Awesome!

I just purchased a used car from Fischer Honda. I cannot say enough about the service I received. I am in sales myself and can say that I never felt pressured or pushed into anything. The warranty on the car lasts as long as I own it which is hard to find with a used car. The paperwork was ready when I came to pick it up; the final transaction was fast and painless. I've also taken my other car for service at Fischer and, again, can only rave about it. The car was ready when they said it would be, it was clean when I picked it up, and the price was very fair. I cannot recommend Fischer Honda highly enough.
