Unfortunately, all the abusers of opioid pain medication have caused a problem with doctors prescribing pain medications to people who need it, like say for instance post op pain a week out of a lumbar spinal fusion with screws and rods. I didnt want to leave my bed but unfortunately when your pain medication runs out on the weekend you cant get your doctor to call it in. I went to Piedmont West because its closes to home. When i saw the doctor she asked me my name and birthday and what i had done. Then she kinda smirked at me and said "we dont give out pain medication here." She didn't look at my surgical site and she wasnt compassionate or sympathetic to my situation. I told my wife that i knew this was going to happen before we left the house. I feel ashamed and judged and i feel like i did something wrong by even asking for a days worth of pain medication. I will not go there anymore even though ive seen decent and compassionate doctors there, like Hayes and a couple of others.
I saw doctor Sick for pain in chest. He took chest x-ray and found some spots. He wanted me to have a cat scan to rule out lung cancer. It has been two weeks and still do not have appointment. When I call back, I am referred to nurse who never answers calls. Guess people over 65 are expendable. Doctors aren't taking new medicare patients. Really don't know where to turn.
This facility has been a life saver for our family. The staff has been professional and courteous, the doctors very good and caring. Never a long wait. We live in Union County, where there is no urgent care. The wait at ER is a minimum of 3 hours and the treatment you get is not as good as it is a Piedmont West. Takes weeks to get an appointment with your primary care physician. You would either be dead or well by the time you got to see him/her. We have been coming to Piedmont West for several years and have never had a complaint of any sort. I recommend it to everyone.
The hours of operation are until 7:30 pm, but don't go after 7 pm, they say they aren't taking any patients because they only have one doctor. I have encountered this twice. Instead of feeling as though they want to serve you they really give the impression you are a bother and will try to find any reason not give you service. Very unprofessional especially when you have a sick child and you work all day. I did like a couple of thier physicians when you get the chance to see them. Don't waste your time ! Go To CMC Steele Creek Urgent Care. They are very courteous and professional
I have visited this location twice and both times I encountered rude staff and extremely long waits. I understand wait times will vary based on the number of patients being treated; however, there is no excuse for the rude staff. Based on other reviews, I am not the only person to experience this. It is ashamed management will not correct the issues because the doctors are wonderful.
Piedmont West is an awesome facility. The staff and drs. are amazing!!! Hats off to Julie she is the best!!!!! She helped me with a billing problem. You could not ask for a nicer person!!!!!!! Thank you Piedmont West. Wish you were still in my network.
Kris is very rude, unprofessional, she has not compassion for no one, she discriminates people by race, talks over you without explaining the concern, any refill request it cannot be approved her statement is always "he/she needs to be seem" no matter what urgent the matter is.
She is sarcastic; she doesn't allow talking to a real nurse.
Concerns has not been address by this facility. I feel sorry because they have great Doctor's/nurses and have the worse people servicing at the front desk recently.
This facility used to be a great place to go, but since Kris and Julie are working in there they are ruining the reputation and the image of this entity.
At Piedmont West, we strive to maintain the highest standards of medical practice for Western York County and other surrounding areas. We often have to deny patient request when we feel it's contrary to best medical practice standards. We do our best to explain the reasoning behind our decisions. We can assure you that patient confidence and satisfaction are our ultimate goals, and to that end, we will always adhere to the best practice guidelines and standards of care. Both Julie and Chris are well-versed in negotiating the complex maze of medical networks, i.e., Hospitals, Physicians, Insurance Plans, etc. and they are exceptional patient advocates. They often go above and beyond in seeking creative solutions to difficult problems. You can know beyond the shadow of a doubt, PWUCC is looking out for your best interest.
Love, Love, Love Piedmont West. Professional and courteous. The staff truly care about the patient.
Thank you! Your support is greatly appreciated!
I have been coming to Piedmont West since it opened. The doctors and all employees are extremely kind and caring. They are also respected in the medical community. It is comforting to know there are such knowledgable and capable professionals in our community.
Thank you! We greatly appreciate your support!
I would not recommend this place. The NPs are not knowledgeable in any serious subject matter and will just through out prescription after prescription. And if you call back up there with a complaint, the staff members (Julie) is very rude and will defend their staff if they are the wrong or not. She's very rude and will try to over talk you while you are trying to explain a situation that took place at that particular urgent care. No compassion. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Western York County can be very proud of Piedmont West Urgent Care Center. All the Physicians and Providers are very experienced and extremely well qualified. One of the biggest problems we're facing in medicine today is that of prescription drug abuse. At PWUCC, we're very diligent in combating this ever-growing problem. Part of that effort involves using the S.C. DHEC website to monitor patient's use of controlled substances. When we identify a patient using multiple Physicians & Multiple pharmacies to procure multiple controlled substances , we confront the problem straight on. Unfortunately, when we deny a patient's request for narcotics or controlled substances, this is often misinterpreted as "uncaring" or "not compassionate". On the contrary! As a healthcare provider, the easy thing is to write the prescription, give the patient what they want, and move on to the next problem. However, at Piedmont West we strive to do what is medically right and in the best interest of our patients. We will never take the easy way out and we're sorry if our diligent efforts at policing controlled substance use/abuse is interpreted in any other way.
