Overall
First visit will be the last.

My 4 year old son's appt was an emergency visit for an absess. He has had dental work through another pediactric dentist's office, but that office is 25 miles from home. With that office, my son's anxiety level was so high that he had to have a cleaning done under sedation at a surgical center. My thought was the new issue provided a chance to move my son's care to a pediatric dentist closer to home.

I fully explained the situation to the office personnel when I made the appt. the receptionist was friendly and seemeed generally concerned. She took time to answer my questions and appease my concerns about bringing my son to the dentist. She also explained that the office does not participate in any dental plans and that I would need to pay them and wait for reimbursement from the insurance company. Knowing my son was in pain and that he would be seen within 48 hours, I happily agreed to this condition.

The dental techncian was also great. She had a way with my son and to my surprise he cooperated with her for x-rays and a quick check.

My positive feelings crashed when Dr. Korng entered the examination room. He was cold, impersonal, and appeared irritated at the thought of having to see my son. He used no positive reinforcement for cooperation, but was that general dental clinician that adults hate going to see. He seemed to scold my son for not opening wide enough, sitting back far enough on the chair, and being fidigty with his hands.

Adding insult to injury, Dr. Korng agreed my son had at least one tooth that needed work and sent us back to the dental practice that had originally done work on my son. Then handed a $100 bill to me.

Needless to say - I won't go back ever. Dr. Korng should never treat young children. He just doesn't have the demeaner for it.
