- About SCI Security Training S.C.I Security Training is family-owned and operated right here in JACKSON HEIGHTS, NY. We were previously located at Woodside, NY. Since our company opened its doors in 2000, we’ve treated every customer like they were a part of our family. Other companies may offer similar services, but our services are the best, and come with a personal touch. We offer a variety of services and trainings for security guards as well as fire guards. SCI Security Training is certified by the NYS Department of Criminal Justice Services. We provide training at an affordable price. - · 16 Hour On-the- Job Training Course for Security Guards This is a 16 hour course that must be completed within 90 days of employment as a security guard. The course provides the student with detailed information on the duties and responsibilities a security guard. Topics covered in this course include the role of the security guard, legal powers and limitations, emergency situations, communications and public relations, access control, ethics and conduct, incident command system, and terrorism. The passing of an examination is required for successful completion of this course. · 8-Hour Pre Assignment Training Course for Security Guards This is an 8 hour course required by New York State as the first step in obtaining a security guard registration card from the New York State Department of State. The course provides the student with a general overview of the duties and responsibilities of a security guard. Topics covered in this course include the role of the security guard, legal powers and limitations, emergency situations, communications and public relations, access control, and ethics and conduct. The passing of an examination is required for successful completion of this course. This is an 8 hour course required by New York State as the first step in obtaining a security guard registration card from the New York State Department of State. The course provides the student with a general overview of the duties and responsibilities of a security guard. Topics covered in this course include the role of the security guard, legal powers and limitations, emergency situations, communications and public relations, access control, and ethics and conduct. I was very skeptical about to going to this place to for fingerprinting after reading all the negative review. But I went after the snow storm so it was over crowded and I had a guy take my fingerprints. He was nice, respectful and very professional. Although it was about a 20 min wait but they tell you they see people according to appointment time. As always some people want speedy service but don’t realize there are other people who has appointments before them.
I have been going to SCI Security Training for about 10 years for all my security classes. Ask for Rokshana she is the owner. She help me with class and help me get a job. Family business very nice people.
PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COST. I would definitely not recommend this place for fingerprinting. Similar to the comment below, I had at very bad encounter with the receptionist. I was the first person that was waiting to be fingerprinted and she had others go ahead of me. When I confronted her, she said I arrived there late. However, I did not arrive late and when I did initially arrive she was meeting with someone during my appointment time. I waited for her to finish with that client just for her to allow other people to go ahead of me. Not only did I feel like she was discriminating however, she was extremely disrespectful and rude. When I saw that she planned on having me wait. I rescheduled my appointment, and got the hell out of there. I will be contacting her manager and making sure their are aware of her unprofessionalism. I decided to get fingerprinted elsewhere. PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COST.
I went to get finger printed at the jackson heights location and the receptionist was very unprofessional. I was actually disappointed with the way she carried herself. She did seem very young, althought this company had to keep in mind this is a very serious practice, and they should have some sort of professionalism when dealing with people. Would not recommend. Live in queens and would rather travel to the city.

As for customer service they deserve a 5, however it was hard for me to find the place because there are too many stores in the same area. Thats why the place gets a 4,not the service though. They are very helpful and tries to accommodate their customers. The instructor is great very funny. You wont fall asleep in class, which is always great considering securities have to take the 8 hour annual all the time!!
Sci security training is very helpful and considerate they helped me with job placement for free. I have a wonderful job right now and I'm glad that Sci has helped me.
Classes every week. They might be a small business but they are very efficient and friendly.
