For over 20 years, I have trusted my pets to Dr. Whitcomb and his staff.

I have never had a bad experience with Wichita Dog & Cat Hospital.

From when I was first adopted by my furry friends, to when it came time to say goodbye to some of them, Dr. Whitcomb has been a blessing to have available to help with their care.

Dr. Whitcomb takes the time to answer any questions, something that is important to me. He takes the time to listen, as well. And during the rough times, since the news can't always be good, his knowledge and warm manner have been a comfort.

To me, my pets are like family. They rely upon me for food, shelter, companionship and to make the right decisions for their care. I take these responsibilities seriously. Taking them to Dr. Whitcomb is one of the best decisions I've ever made.

He truly cares, not only about the animals he helps and heals, but the people as well. I can honestly say that, in my nearly 50 years of life, I have never found anyone I trust more with my treasured friends.

Without hesitation, I recommend Dr. Whitcomb and his staff to anyone seeking a place where they can feel utterly confident that their pet will receive the best possible treatment.

I have used Dr. Whitcomb for 18 years. Over the years, he had taken great care of our 4 dogs and 5 cats. He has been patient, respectful and kind during our visits and has always given us good advice, which he left up to us to follow or not. I have seen Dr. Whitcomb become emotional when he has had to put one of our animals down. He has even sent cards at their passing. This compassion and care goes above and beyond and I am glad that he is my family vet!

This vet is terrible. When my dog's left anterior cruciate ligament ruptured in late July, we took her to Dr. Whitcomb, who did extensive xrays with anesthesia (pretty pricy) and diagnosed her with severe arthritis. He said several times that she wouldn't be around with us much longer because she is 13. We took her home, profoundly sad and trusting in his professional, educated diagnoses for 9 months, giving her expensive painkillers and nsaids from his clinic. Her leg muscles greatly deteriorated during these months. One day, I came across a web page that had very similar symptoms as our dog has, they diagnosed it as Anterior Cruciate Ligament rupture. We called and made another appointment, which he told us still that she had severe arthritis. I pointed out that doing this simple diagnostic test called the drawer test, indicated our dog had an ACL rupture. He didn't offer any excuse or apology for his wrong diagnosis. We took her to another vet surgeon who said that she obviously had a case of ACL rupture, but in the last 9 months, it caused much more extensive damage. He gave her a poor diagnosis for her surgery because her muscles had atrophied so much. However, we believed that we owed it to her, so we did the surgery. The surgeon found extensive scarring, the ligament had completely deteriorated, and both menisci of her knee were torn: the "worst case he has ever had to fix." He did the best that he could in repairing it, and now my doggie is in so much pain as her body tries to FINALLY heal. My poor pup has went through so much pain, and I totally lay all blame to the first vet I trusted: Dr. Whitcomb. If you have an elderly pet, Please Please Please don't take them to this vet! He discriminates and will not be careful in treating your elderly friend. He thinks that your friend should just die. There is no justice in my poor, little doggie's case. I post her case so that her story is heard and will help prevent further tragic cases. If there was a board I could take my dog's case to for professional discipline on Dr. Whitcomb's part, I would.

Don't invest your trust because this vet (Dr. Whitcomb) lied to me and was dishonest in his practice! Don't put your money here because I feel that I have been scammed by this "Dr." Whitcomb paying several hundred dollars for tests that he had no intention of using for what he told me they were for. Most importantly do not trust your pet (or to people like me a member of the family) with this man, he left my dog with no medication after paying for tests and promising that the medication would be available until the refill that he put on bottle was to be used leaving me with no medicine my beloved dog needs and she is now on the verge of going into convulsions, and the worst part it all could have been avoided had the "Dr." been truthful and refilled the medication OR told me Before she ran out that he would no longer refill the medicine (again even though he wrote that refills were available, and only told me that he recanted the prescription When She Was Out Of the Pills that She NEEDS!).

Don't risk your pets with this dishonest, rude, and dangerous man!

There are plenty of Good vets around Wichita go to one of them instead.
