Keith's Bar & Grill

I live in California (Santa Cruz area) and was in the Chicago area tending to family business and ended up at Keith's on 6/19/10. My brother lives down the street in Whiting and has raved about Keith's for several years. He was right and I was blown away!!!

I'm not exaggerating when I say the best calamari I have ever had is the calamrari at Keith's. I live on the coast in California and I found GREAT calamari in Indiana?! Go figure...but it was truly outstanding. The Diablo Shrimp (I think that was the name) appetizer and Pasta Cabonara entree that followed were also outstanding. Maybe that doesn't really say it. The food was TERRIFIC. The service was excellent and the entire experience was the highlight of my weekend in the Chicago area.

I had a chance to speak to owner Scott Keith and found out the restaurant is only open for dinners Friday and Saturday. My condolences to locals looking for a great dining experience Sunday through Thursday. If you're anywhere near this place when they are open, do not miss this chance to have a remarkable/memorable dining experience.
