Really awesome staff. I'm so impressed with the way everyone works as a cohesive team. I've never been treated disrespectfully by anyone here (experienced this at another clinic.) Customer service is excellent; vets are top notch; support staff are exceptional, supportive and knowledgeable.
I had to euthanize my 16 yr old dog and everyone was really lovely, caring, comforting. I'm eternally grateful.
We're lucky to have such outstanding vet care in our community!

Last week I had to leave my precious little dog at Veremedy Pet Hospital for surgery. That is a stressful situation for anyone. I left though, really feeling and knowing he was in very knowledgable and capable hands . That made what could have been an unbearable day for me much easier. Thank you Veremedy !!

A calm reassuring voice on the phone

Concerned about the 2 cups of chocolate chips our 35 lb pup has just ingested, I called the Veremedy's after hours number. My call was returned within minutes by one of the owners of the practice. The calm voice at the other end of the line reassured me that my dog would be fine and that if she wasn't, he was able to meet us at their office at any hour of the night. He intentionally kept me on the line (as a 911 operator would do) asked me very specific questions about the kind of chocolate and quantity, and took time to search on his database and calculate, based on the amount of chocolate ingested, for the different reactions she might have. He talked to me until he knew I understood how the dog would likely behave, and what to watch for, should she behave differently. About an hour after we ended the conversation our dog behaved exactly as he predicted. I wasn't worried, as I was armed with not only an emergency number to call, but a firm understanding of the situation and how it would likely play out.
Veremedy gets 5 stars for their immediate call back, calm reassurance, professional approach and thorough guidance.
I wholeheartedly recommend Veremedy Pet Hospital.

I loVeremedy!!

These folks go the extra mile. I brought my kitten in with a broken leg and was clearly given ALL of my medical options along with fees associated with them. When something unexpected turned up, my pet was cared for during off-hours by the Veterninarian/owner at no expense to me! The entire place is spotless and the staff is extremely professional and knowledgeable. What a great experience.

Overall
Money for nothing

After having taken my pets to these guys for over five years I had been fairly satisfied with their service. In fact I do like most of their doctors, but their policies are rediculous. I needed to take my dog to the see a vet because he had an issue with his paw. I walked into the clinic and at 8:05 A.M. (they open at 8:00 A.M) and asked if we could be seen. I was told that we could be seen but there would be an $88.00 emergency fee OR I could wait until 2:30 P.M. for an appointment. Keep in mind that I was the only one in the waiting room, there were no cars in the patient parking lot. So the way I understand it, the doctors are doing nothing but because I didn't make an appointment there is an $88.00 penalty fee. I made the appointment for 2:30, came home and called another clinic who said they had no fee at all for walk-ins. The people at the Stonecliff Animal Clinic were fantastic. I hope the $88.00 "emergency" fee policy at Veremedy is worth the loss of my business in the future.

Jeff, I am so sorry to hear of your disappointment. At Veremedy we always strive to exceed our client’s expectations. In the interest of fairness, please permit me to note the following: You did, in fact arrive at our White River Junction location at 8:05AM on Saturday morning 10/2/10 without an appointment. Since our first appointment is scheduled for 8:30, there were only staff cars in our parking lot. You requested an urgent care visit for your dog Pudgy, and a staff member, as they are trained to do, advised you that the doctor was finishing up care of hospitalized patients, and after ascertaining that Pudgy was not in a life threatening situation, asked if you thought Pudgy could wait until a 10:30Am opening was available (we are only open until 12:00 on Saturdays so it was not a 2:30 opening). You insisted on being seen right away, you were informed that there is an extra fee for urgent care walk-in cases, you agreed to that arrangement, and rather than leave, you were in an exam room with the vet who had interrupted morning rounds by 8:16AM. (Our computerized record system automatically updates activity in the hospital) The doctor spent 30 minutes with Pudgy, analyzed samples in the lab, and placed a protective wrap on Pudgy’s sore paw. The exam room was cleaned and the pet who had the 8:30 appointment whose owner had waited patiently for 20 minutes was introduced to the doctor at 8:50AM. We will always squeeze in an urgent care visit, and we never argue if an owner believes their pet is in need of urgent care. Because we are one of the busiest veterinary hospitals in the region, squeezing in an urgent care visit almost always means we will inconvenience another patient with a scheduled appointment. As a gesture of goodwill we often offer the client who is waiting a discount on their services, or some free flea products, or something as simple as some coffee or hot chocolate. So, with due respect, we do not look at our urgent care exam fee as a punishment, we look at it as a way to be fair to all involved. To be fair, if no one is going to be inconvenienced we often do not charge the extra fee. I hope Pudgy is doing well. Brad Burrington, DVM Owner Veremedy Pet Hospitals

LOVE OF MONEY VS YOOUR BELOVED PET

our animals had been going here when the practice was owned by dr franklin.

my son's dog had been going there also for the past 7 yrs.

last year th dog needed surgrey and they

presented him with an estimate of around 400 to 700 dollars. the surgrey came to around 1,200.

he then paid them off.

the dog also has to be on medication every day to control seizures. he then took the dog

in (with a zero balance) to get blood tests for the seizure medications. the dog ran out of medication 6 days after the test so we called for another prescription and were told that the prescription and results were being held until the 168

dollars was paid. we explained that he was paid every 2 weeks and won't be paid until the end of the week.

we then asked for the dogs meds till then and they wouldn't give it.

we then asked if the dogs health was more important than the money and they said the dogs health was more important but that they need to do this as some people have stiffed them. they have always beeen paid by us. we feel that they are holding the dogs meds hostage. WE SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAD TO HAVE THERE BILLS INTO COLLECTION AS WE HAVE YRS OF PAYING THEM WITHOUT THEW BILLS GOING TO COLLECTION.

these are not caring people if they can withhold the dogs medication that he has to have.

Linda, I am glad I ran into you, and I am glad you pointed out this problem—this was awhile ago. All I can say is, wow. I have done an internal review of this case and as near as I can tell at least two of our standard operating procedures were not implemented correctly. I am sorry. We pride ourselves on providing the best veterinary care in the region, and we take additional pride in the intelligent way we manage our client’s pet care dollars. We are not perfect, and it looks like we did not get the dollar part of our system correct in this case. To be fair, even Tom Brady throws an interception now and again, and professional baseball players make errors. At Veremedy, we are big fans of the writings of Dr. Atul Gawande, in particular his book entitled “Better.” So, when we make an error, we strive to make it up to the person we have effected, and we make every effort to learn from our mistake. “Don’t get bitter; get better!” is a core value at our company. So again, I am sorry for the dollar part of this case was handled (I know that the care that Red was receiving was excellent—that part we got right). I have credited your account for $300.00.
