I attended the partial dual diagnosis program twice between February and April of this year. Yes, the initial impression of the physical space was off putting, but, do not judge a book by it's cover! In no way should this variable reflect the quality of the program. Dana and the partial counselors were WONDERFUL! They were caring, inciteful but most of all human. They gave respect and 100% encoragement to everyone who was willing to work on themselves (you only get out of it what you put into it).
I arrived at one of my lowest of lows and left with confidence and hope for myself in returning to "the outside"
I recommend this program to anyone struggling with mental issues and substance abuse. They get it! Go!

This place is horrible, unorganized and the staff seemed crazier than the patients. They have no clue how to be organized, communicative and treat parents with respect. They treat parents like they're patients too.
They handed me some papers to sign without a pen. I ask for my son clothes; they didn't know where my son's clothes was. They left my son for 15 minutes in the bathroom without clothes. To get something from them you have to ask plenty time. They ignore you and keep watching them like zombies .
Please think twice before you allow an emergency facility to submit your son there.

I was suffering from depression when I was 12 and made some suicidal threats. I of course was sent here. I was scanned by a small hand held metal detector and had to share a room with a kid several years younger than me. They would shine flashlights in the room at night. One kid ASSUALTED a girl so I was in constant fear of the other patients. When I first arrived my father was told he had no choice, sign the document. He did of course, 4 days of my life I will never get back later I was finally released only to be told by my mother that the document my dad signed was voluntary... I had wondered why my parents were PAYING for a forced admission deeming me as government property. All I learned was that humanity is vile trash that needs to die out in a brutal terrible way...

I was pretty pleased about my stay here, the staff were very friendly as long as you treated them with respect, and the food really wasn't all that bad. Some of these people writing reviews seem to forget that it's a mental health hospital, not a vacation resort. The adolescent unit was a positive experience and the art therapy they had me in was really helpful. I learned new coping skills to help with my depression and anxiety, and I left with a smile on my face. Don't let the reviews like the others fool you, if you need help, go there. You'll receive the treatment you need. Only complaint is that they haven't followed up with my parents about a partial program so I'm stuck at home until they do. 4 stars :)

This place did nothing to help my son but made his behaviors worse and tried adding more medication to control him which when he left we immediately started tapering off- this was a waste of time and heartache

This place was horrible, as a past pacient there I was horrified, the rooms had bars on Windows, everything was plastic, couldn't use pens or pencils, it was dirty and moldy...staff mistreated all of the kids,I was punched by a kid and they did nothing! They are rude staff and treat us like we are trash. When I was admitted there by the ER it was winter and I was in just a hospital gown, I had to wait half an hour to have someone open a door for me..sadly I had scratches and they pointed them out and laughed at me..food was horrible...staff is horrible..treatment was horrible..this place is not a hospital...it's JAIL.

I have nothing but praise for the care I received at The Westwood Lodge Adult Day Hospital Program. The Clinical Director and Staff were well educated and the care I received was exceptional.

The cafeteria had several different lunch options to satisfy everyone.

I have had three separate stays at the Westwood location and each time the care I received was outstanding.

Watch out! You'll be to busy e...

Watch out! You'll be to busy earning "privies" (your own basic human rights) to work on yourself honestly because this place is like a jail for runaways and junkies; not a psych hospital. Definatly don't come here if your 29 or over because you will be side by side with children as well as being treated like a child. Everything is locked including the bathrooms and yes they right down what you do here including asking to use it.

I had no idea what this place was until it was too late...and then had to lie my way out. It doesn't exactly "conjure honestly"!!

Thank god for my theraputic team on the outside....I need them now more than ever just to "come out of my disociated state" due to this place! Horrible!
