Overall
Excellent care, wonderful staff

We have been bringing our pets to Arrowhead Animal Hospital for more than 16 years and have had nothing but positive experiences there. Dr. Pfretzschner tended to our Irish Wolf Hound and our yellow labrador through most of their adult lives and into old age. When our labrador had heart failure and died late on Christmas Night, Dr. Pfretzschner and one of the staff met us early the next morning to help with our dog's remains, and they were so kind and compassionate. Then, a few months ago, our 1 year old black labrador managed to get away from us to chase a rabbit near a busy road. He was hit by a car and we didn't think he would survive the drive to the vet, but when we arrived at Arrowhead some of the staff came out to help bring him inside the buidling, where they immediately surrounded him and began tending to his injuries. Over the next several months our dog required surgery and lots of care, but Dr. Cordell was very generous with his time and gave us thorough instructions for physical therapy that we could do at home to help him heal. He told us to call any time with questions or concerns, and he frequently called to check on our dog between check-ups during the healing process. More than once, when our poor lab was in too much pain to be moved - he would literally wail if we moved him - one of the vet techs went out of his way to drive to our house to administer shots without charging for the visits. It was so overwhelming that he would do that to spare our dog pain.

These are instances of the exemplary way that Arrowhead handles extreme situations, and I have to say that the routine care of our pets has been outstanding as well. Nor have we found their charges to be outrageous or out of scale with the treatment we've received. Good veterinary care can be costly, but Arrowhead provides exceptional care at rates comparable to other area vets used by our friends.

I have enthusiastically recommended Arrowhead Animal Hospital to several of my friends who have been equally pleased, and I have yet to hear of a negative experience from any of them. You can and should expect excellent care from your veterinary professionals, and in more than 16 years that is consistently what we have received at Arrowhead.

I left this hospital as well

Cold, unfriendly, ditto all of the previous comments. I always felt like I was bothering them. After my dog had what I now know were all the signs of mouth cancer and STILL went undiagnosed I took her to CSU. Unfortunately this is a fast spreading disease and it was just her time. Following that I took my new adopted dog there and they didn't take the time he needed to acclimate and was rated as "viscous" which I tell others and they cannot believe Arrowhead talked about my dog that way. He's a gentle soul.Last try was his annual exam and upon completion I confirmed he didn't get the rabies shot because he's on the 3 year shot? The Vet said but that's next year and then checked his records and said oh I'm sorry, he wasn't supposed to get his shot.I moved to Community Pet Hospital in Northglennn that is also an emergency service and open all the time. Everyone loves my gentle dog. I love it there and so do my now 2 dogs.

So much for 15 years of loyalty

I will never take my animals to Arrowhead EVER again. They are cold, impersonal and greedy. They only care about how much money they can get from you. The only reason I hung on for so long was because of one wonderful doctor and he's now gone. His name was Dr. Guster. I can't believe after going there for 15 years they would have treated me so poorly this morning. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way about the entire staff! Keep looking for another vet. I hope this gets posted. People need to know who they are taking their animals to.
