General Info

Westerville Dental Health was established over thirty years ago. Stephen R. Malik, DDS joined the practice in 1992, and became the sole proprietor in January 1998. The practice moved, in May 2005, to the present location. The office is conveniently located on the growing north side of Westerville just off State Route 3 (State Street) between New County Line Road and the Maxtown-Polaris connector.

Dental Examination
We utilize digital X-ray technology during your dental exams and check-ups. If you have a long-term or serious oral health care problem, we may request that you come in more regularly so that we can monitor your condition with the use of digital X-rays. We recommend a new set of X-rays be taken once a year.
X-rays
The average patient needs x-rays taken once a year. We use cavity detecting and bite-wing x-rays once a year an panoramic x-rays once every five years. Patients with gum disease may need x-rays as often as every six months, depending on the severity of their case. These cases are usually referred to a specialist to assist you with more information on treatment options and financing.
Oral Cancer Screening
Your hygiene exam will start with a review of your medical history. We will then discuss any existing health concerns or issues and monitor their progress. Next, we will examine your gum tissue, looking for any signs of periodontitis. We will also do an oral cancer screening and then remove any plaque and tartar that have built up on your teeth. We always recommend a fluoride treatment during your visit, which can help strengthen your teeth and prevent cavities from forming. We will also polish your teeth, floss your teeth and talk about any further treatment you may need. X-rays are recommended once a year to identify “hidden” problems in the mouth.
