Mama Lin Sushi & Chinese

CLOSED. Reopened as new restaurant. This restaurant keeps changing hands. Mama Lin's was quite good, had very good sushi. I don't know if there are now new owners or the same owners reinventing the restaurant. Must try.

First off the inside is nice. It is a bit plain, but it is very clean, bright and the decorations fit together well. While small the space is set up well and the tables were all set and very clean when I came in.

The waiter was very quick to come over and fill our water as well as pour us some green tea (which is included with anything you get).

My father and I both got the lunch special; he had General Tso's Chicken and I had the Beef Teriyaki with Chicken Fingers. Both meals came with soup and rice of our choice and both of us had the Miso soup and Pork fried rice. All of it was very good! Well cooked and with great flavor. The waiter also brought over a complimentary seafood salad. The dressing on it was flavorful and a bit spicy (though I am admittedly a wuss about spicy foods) and the fish was very tasty. While I would assume that samples are not a daily addition it was a nice touch for the restaurant's opening.

So, this restaurant is clean, nicely decorated, good service, excellent food, and a great price as well. I would definitely recommend if you enjoy Chinese food. It is in the plaza with Secret Lake Dog Training, Red's Barber, Simsbury Pizza and others.



The biggest compliment I will give this place is for the food. It was fresh and well seasoned. It made for a nice sit down restaurant and would be good for take out, with the quality being much better than most take out places I know. I hope the restaurant does well and people stop in to try it!
