The Valley Settlement House is a nonprofit social service agency. Its facilities include a gymnasium and auditorium with a stage. The organization offers programs to improve the social, economic and educational conditions of the families in Oranges, Maplewood and Newark counties in New Jersey. The Valley Settlement House provides community outreach and child care programs. It operates a preschool program for children between the ages of 2 and 5. The organization conducts an eight week summer day camp that includes a variety of educational and recreational activities. The Valley Settlement House also offers an after-school program that includes arts and crafts, computer classes and physical education activities for children between the ages of 6 and 13. In addition, it offers a teen night program that includes filed trips and individual and group counseling sessions. The organization is located in West Orange, N.J.
