Cashmere Salon originally opened its doors in Philadelphia, PA in 1997. Known for high quality hair care by a roster of the top stylists in the region and providing the newest trends in hair styles, Cashmere has served a wide range of clients over the years and made its mark as one of the top salons in the Philadelphia area. Cashmere Salon was the first salon to introduce the Great Lengths Hair Extension system to the Tri-State area. The Daily News, Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Magazine have all recognized Cashmere for this accomplishment. In 2009, Cashmere Salon relocated to the West Chester area and is looking forward to a successful future of hair care in the region. Juanita James, Owner In the hair industry since 1992 when she began work as a stylist in various salons in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, Juanita has worked for some of the most reputable salons in the Philadelphia area over the years. Yet, Juanita has always had a vision of owning her own beauty salon. After years of mentoring and development, Juanita opened Cashmere Beauty Salon in 1997. She, like her mentors, developed an establishment with a reputation for excellence, and over a ten year period Juanita acquired the reputation as one of the top stylists in the Philadelphia community. She now mentors a variety of stylists herself and is setting trends in the hair industry. Breaking a variety of barriers, Juanita became the first African-American to become a Great Lengths technician, introducing this hair infusion technique to the tri-state area. This great accomplishment was recognized in the Philadelphia Daily News and Inquirer newspapers. Throughout the years, Juanita participated in numerous hair shows and competitions, and in 2006, was a part of the styling team for a fashion show featuring Eve, the actor/rapper, working side-by-side with some of the greats in the industry. Cashmere Salon has been featured in a variety of hair care magazines such as Solid Gold, Topnotch, and Passion, just to name a few. Juanita realized her personal vision of taking Cashmere Salon to another level in 2006 when she opened a full service day spa, one of the first African-American establishments of its kind. It was featured in The Philadelphia Magazine and Elli Magazine, which was a major accomplishment for Juanita. Juanita has always maintained a quality of excellence, which requires that she has a professional staff of quality hair care technicians that are capable of delivering trend-setting styles and professionalism. Juanita's motto has been to provide the best quality of service to her customers, and an experience of pampering their needs.
