Established in 1974, NorthStar Services was formerly known as Region IV Office of Developmental Disabilities. Currently, it is an agency that provides a range of services to people with developmental disabilities throughout the northeast regions of Nebraska. The agency supports people in a variety of areas, such as finances, personal care, living arrangements, home management, health and retirement. NorthStar Services also provides on-line employment training sessions through the University of Missouri. It employs more than 600 people and serves over 400 individuals. The agency additionally operates a day-service center in Wayne, Neb., that provides support services to nearly 40 individuals. The center offers day care, residential, apartment supervisions and job support services.
