Not every apartment building you live in is perfect and Midtown Square has its cons, but it's nothing worth talking the complex down. When I first moved here, there was a Manager name Janet and she was a nightmare! Crazy phone voicemails, placing her hand over your head and praying for you in the middle of the office no matter your religious preference or if there were others around. Sharing your personal business with other staff members, entering units without authorization, etc. She was a good person, (Janet has a good heart) but business wise, she was a horrible manager.
You can imagine just how happy I was when Broder and Sachse came in to take over things. It took a while for them to get settled in, but what the last management company failed to tell B&S was the crap storm they left behind for them to pick up. For example, I had a HUGE hole in my bathroom ceiling that sat for months. Of course I was at my wits end about it. I took my frustrations out on them after it took an additional few months to get them to patch it. Mind you, this was not their fault and I should not have taken it out on them. After spending a year with this new management company, I have to say they are TEN TIMES BETTER than what Midtown Square had before.
Management is decent, actually better than decent. Our apartment manager does get some slack on maintenance and repairs, but it's really not her fault. It's really a big corporate problem. There are too many units to have only one maintenance man on staff each day. Before, we had 2-3. Two lived on-site and the other didn't. This is something we all have to live with (the tenants of course). If maintenance has an emergency repair that is going to take the entire day, your request will get put back. Not because maintenance is lazy, but because he's only one man. You can't expect him to be more than that.
Rent is fair market. We are not over charged and we don't have to pay gas or water. All you have is rent and a light bill. You are not going to find a better deal in this area. When lease is up, rent only goes up $10.00. I have lived in apartments where rent goes up $50-$100 upon lease renewal.
B&S has also made many improvements that I dare not ask from the last management staff.
They took care of the flooding problem in the front parking lot. Took a few months to get to it, but it no longer floods when it snows or rains. The nasty basements are being remodeled. You no longer have to go down to the basement in utter fear just to wash your clothes. The hallways are cleaned weekly. All trash is cleaned up, the doors and windows are washed, and the floors are vacuumed.
They never enter your apartment illegally. The first thing they ask is for permission to enter. If they don't have that, they don't go in unless there is an emergency. People can say what they want about Midtown Square, but I have lived here long enough to experience the good, the bad, and the ugly. B&S is not a bad company. They are strict, but if they weren't people would tear this place to shreds.
With B&S, your information is private. If they do share information (All offices gossip, I've worked in enough to know this), you won't hear back about it. You don't have to worry about the cleaning crew gossiping about your unit in the hallway. Believe me when I say, things have changed. Management does not discuss business with other tenants. Your information is secure and private.
I am happy with the changes and I have even renewed my lease for another year, upgrading to a two bedroom while I have a child on the way and management was very helpful with my move. Anyone want to try and downplay this place is crazy. This is a quiet area and the police are never here, there a no thefts or break-ins and I have always had decent neighbors.

If anybody is trying to find a apartment in wayne don't go there. The place is a dump and Management is garbage. The lady Janet in the office is a drunk and she drinks all day long with male residents. She proclaimes to be a christian, but is a slumlord. The place has roaches, rats, leaks, a horrible stench in the halls. Manintenance is thefts, who steals from apartments. BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE! I dont wont you to get scammed by this lady, I mean drunk. I tried to give time to do what they needed to do, but left in 2004. Just be careful!
