Called them 2 days after a near fatal car accident. Had been there previously for a mammogram. Was released by hospital with instructions to see my doctor thurs or fri to follow up, so was trying to comply with that and have a doctor see my severe air bag injury to my breast.
I was new to the state and did not have insurance yet til days before the accident so did not have a doctor. Was told to bring my medical records from years prior to be reviewed by a doctor and they would decide if they would take me on as a new patient. We dropped the records off friday, were told we would have them back early next week. No word by wednesday so we collected the records.
To be clear, i did not feel entitled to be seen by them. But now it's a week since my accident and have not been seen by doctor. I do feel entitled to being heard with compassion and being offered referrals if they were not going to see me. This was not a call for an appt to be wait listed. This was an emergency follow up. Maybe they would have a cancellation. Nothing. Now i have to start all over with other doctors. It is crushing, disgusting, the lack of simple decency. Will never return there under any circumstance. I was not asking for a favor, i was a paying patient.
