Washington Public Works Department offers a wide range of services to the residents of Wash., S.C. The department has various divisions, such as sanitation, drainage, cemeteries, streets, water resources, water and sewer division, and general services departments. The sanitation division provides programs that ensures clean environment. Its drainage division maintains, cleans and repairs basin that drain city streets. The public works department also provides a wide range of services, such as street maintenance and construction, street cleaning, sidewalk construction and maintenance, sanitation services, brush and leaf collection, curb and gutter construction, storm drainage and maintenance, and cemetery maintenance and burials. It also manages water and maintains and repairs the water distribution system, and installs new water connections and maintains hydrants. The department collects wastewater and transports it to the treatment plant. It also constructs sewer lines, maintains and repairs the collection system, and install new connections to the system.
