Been taking pets there for over 40years on and off, but what I remember most was Christmas Eve, my pony got a nail in his hoof, and Dr Mello made a "barn" call and removed the nail. Does that say it all?

We had taken our cats to another vet years ago. One of my cats needed surgery and not having the expertise to perform it themselves, they sent me to Warren Animal Hospital. A few years later, we had moved and were using another vet, and they too sent us to Warren for something beyond their expertise. We decided if TWO separate vets were going to send us to Warren, we may as well switch, and I haven't been sorry! The vets and techs there are always friendly and accommodating; the vets are wonderful and caring. We had all three of our previous cats seen there, as well as our two current dogs, a dog we recently lost, and our new cat. They are honest, they won't try to sell you products or procedures you don't need, and they give sound advice. Yes, it's not the newest, most modern, state-of-the-art facility, they are good vets providing honest, old-fashioned and fairly priced services who genuinely care about the animals they care for and the people they serve.

Of course there is hair on the floor and a smell.. Its an animal hospital. They have always treated my animals with care. The docs know what theyre doing, if they send a pet home sleepy its cus the animal is stressed and will be more comfy at home. And i highly doubt any tech would want to put an animal down for being noisey. They deal with stresse pets all day long and know how to handle it. They all also love animals and do everything in their power to help them not destroy them. I recommend them to everyone. They know what theyre doing. Even if the doc is in the room for 5 mins. They know. Theyre fantastic caring people.

I brought our Yorkie in for Legg Perthes Disease. Dr. Mello was under $1000.00 than any other surgeon. The surgery went well and they kept him an extra nite at no expense to give him an IV. Yes, the place had a mild odor as stated by a previous rater but, this office is not new in fact this office has been there forever. So, if you want new with all the pretty smells at twice the bill and same service than go pay for it. Sorry, I'll stick with this office and deal with all the nit pics and be satified knowing my pup is in good hands and I'm not getting ripped off. Sincerely, Carol St. Martin

Can count on them

I have been a long time client, for over 20 years. I have brought my cats in on appts and in emergencies. They have always treated my pets extremely well (with the exception of one vet that I believe is no longer there.) They are knowledgeable, friendly, empathetic and truly love the work they do. I had an emergency w/ my cat on a saturday nite 2 yrs ago in a blizzard. I called the vet "on call" He met me at the facility where my cat was treated and my heart, soul and mind, as well as my cat, were fine with the proper meds & treatment. They are wonderful & caring. They take all or most emergency situations at any time. If someone has left an animal or if an animal has been found injured. Without knowing if anyone will pay or not, they will treat that animal no matter what. They are GREAT at what they do !!!!! No one can ever tell me otherwise. God Bless Dr Mello, Dr Mello-Kirker and Dr. Crane ..... All wonderful vets.... !!!! Happy Cat Owner in Warren, R.I.

Notably good service experience

I HAVE BEEN A CLIENT FOR 16YEARS AND I AM PLEASED WITH THIS HOSPITAL.THEY ARE ALWAYS AVAILABLE WHEN I NEED THEM AND HAVE GIVEN MY ANIMALS THE BEST CARE POSSIBLE.OF COURSE THERE MIGHT BE HAIR ON THE FLOOR ITS AN ANIMAL FACILITY.MOST OF THE TECHS THERE ARE AWESOME AND SEEM VERY COMPASSIONATE THEY EVEN CARE FOR ANIMALS WHO HAVE NO HOME KNOWING THEY WILL NOT BE PAID FOR THIS BUT DO IT BECAUSE THE ANIMALS ARE IN NEED.I AM SURE WHEN YOU SEE AS MANY CLIENTS AS THEY DO THERE WILL BE SOME UNHAPPY PEOPLE HOWEVER THEY DO WONDERFUL WORK AND I AM SURE ITS NOT EASY.DEALING WITH DEATH AND OWNERS WHO ARE NOT VERY RESPONSIBLE ON A DAY TO DAY BASIS.I AM THANKFUL WE HAVE SUCH A WONDERFUL FACILITY TO CARE FOR MY PETS.I HAVE BEEN TO OTHER VETS AND ALWAYS END UP COMING BACK TO WARREN.I THINK THE CLIENTS WHO ARE UNHAPPY CERTAINLY DESERVE A RIGHT TO THEIR OPINION BUT I THINK THEY NEED TO EXPERIENCE SOME OTHER FACILITIES BEFORE THEY MAKE UP THEIR MIND ON TRASHING THIS ONE.

Not happy with service

Took cat to be spayed & they sent her home still groggy. They didn't want to keep her overnight as planned because she was cranky. She began coughing & we had to get antibiotics - they didn't even look at her. I also found the place to be not very clean.Someone else took my dog there to be neutered & the tech wanted him to be put down because he barked at her. She thought that he was aggressive - he's a big baby - just loud.

bad experience

the vet didn't even look at my dog, yet charged me for a visit after paying $45 for a rabies shot. I mentioned this to the assistant and the vet came back to finally examine him. the place was filthy...animal hair everywhere as well as dirt. i would never go back.
