. Its so hard to find knowledgable and trustworthy mechanics. These guys at auto pro repair warren are pretty good about telling you as it is and fixing it right the first time.

I went to Auto Pro because my son "blew up" our engine while he was in college (apparently changing oil isn't a high on the list of priorities for college students nowadays). Naturally I had to pay for it so I called around and came across Auto Pro's 3 year/unlimited mile warranty on engines with a $200 off coupon. I called and spoke to the center where they gave me a price about $300 lower than the next lowest price. I towed the car there and went up there to give the deposit. At this time the manager explained to me that there may be additional parts on top of the price... I asked how much? He said he didn't know but explained the rational to me on how every car is different and that they will save anything they can. It seemed reasonable but I was skeptical. Then three days later I get a call with about 5 items that were needed and it would be another $340. So I went up there with a friend of mine who is car-savvy to see what was really up. Upon arrival the manager took me in the back and showed me those parts as they were all corroded/leaking. At this point I began to lose my skepticism and trust the mechanics and told them to go ahead. Also, the manager said there would be no labor charge for these items as they had to be removed to do the engine anyway... not bad.

Overall I am impressed with the service and will return as I feel they have treated me fairly during this big and complex job. Although I would have wish it would have been done a day earlier but I am happy that the car runs good now and I am definitely not giving it back to my son!

WARNING: DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT take your vehicle to these crooks! I took my car here after my motor seized up a few months back. I was told a new/used motor was going to cost $1,800 total to have installed.. When I went to pick my car up after they told me it was ready, I arrived to my car ripped all apart and things broken everywhere!! They then told me it was going to be $2,500 instead because they had to do this that and another thing. After being forced to pay this full amount I had to in order to get my car back, I was driving down the road when it started running like sh*t and smelled like gas BAD. After having another mechanic look at it, we discovered that AUTO PRO had put the WRONG computer/ECM in my car. For another few hundred dollers I replaced it myself. After the correct ECM was installed I found out that my TRANSMISSION needs to be replaced. Kinda weird since it worked perfect before I took it to these AUTO PRO-FOOLS!!!

I would NEVER recommend this facility to ANYONE! My neighbor has had one problem after another with his truck since first taking it in at the beginning of the month: an ongoing transmission issue, a cracked frame ... The list is unbelievable! One problem, in particular, nearly injured/killed him & his son-a "soft/spongey brake pedal". The mechanic neglected to bleed out the air in the rear brake lines at the wheel cylinders-an issue my boyfriend properly corrected. Not only will this become a legal matter-still looking for the right attorney- but with the help of the BBB, MI Dept. of State Consumers' Division, Regulatory Services, a local news station, my boyfriend & myself, we'll be able to get my neighbor back into the PROPERLY FIXED & SAFE truck he has paid for!
