I personally worked at North Wake Animal Hospital for 2 years and would have rated it 5 Stars then. We had a great, caring & compassionate, experienced and efficient "team" back then. And, we worked Very Hard, to say the least to help thousands of great pets and their owners. I was very happy there, until Lee sold the practice to a Corporation in which the word "Corrupt," is a Complete Understatement. Use your judgement when going back to a Family Owned Practice that is now owned by a Corporation (that is only out for $). As for the "old" doctors that helped this place grow and expand to the best possible point in 36 years since the beginning, low cost, high volume clinic before this..."no solicitation here guaranteed", but you know where to find us. My only goal is to help pets, fix the medical issues quickly with experience, and at a low cost. I hope that the "New North Wake Animal Hospital" provides that, but I have heard otherwise from at least 200+ clients trying to leave over the past year :/ Sad. -- Dr. Marlon.

Dr. Teresa Danford recently left the vet I had been using, but I trust her so much I moved my pets to North Wake. At my previous vet I had a cat that had been diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy and when Dr. T has seen him she questioned the diagnosis and referred me to a heart specialist for an echo cardiogram. I took him for the appointment and discovered that there was absolutely nothing wrong with him and we had been giving him a pill daily for 5 years and limiting his play. Dr. Teresa then did a dental cleaning and extractions on him (we had been concerned about sedation because of the misdiagnosed heart condition) and he's feeling so much better!!
We also took our cat with entropion to see her last week for surgery and she's fixed his eyes and for the first time in his life he can see! He's already feeling so much better!
Dr. Teresa is just a fantastic vet that will take time outside of work to research something if she needs to know more. I feel when I take my pets to her they are getting the best possible care but someone who is thinking critically about their issues! I love that she questioned the diagnosis that my cat had at another vet and she was right!
She also does a lot of volunteer work with a rescue group I volunteer with and has helped many of those cats on her own time. Alley Cats and Angels uses her as their primary diagnostic vet.
If you want the best possible vet care, by someone who cares enough about your pet to keep thinking about your case even after your 15 minutes in the exam room are up - you need to see Dr. Teresa at North Wake. I'll follow her wherever she goes!!

I took my very sick cat to NWAH and met Dr. Teresa Danford for the first time. Dr. Danford diagnosed the illness and performed surgery and now he is doing great. Dr. Darch treated my pets for years and I was sorry to see him leave but very fortunate to have met Dr. Danford. I was impressed with her professional caring attitude and how she took the time to completely explain everything to me. I am pleased to have Dr. Danford as my pets vet from now on.Joe S. Angier, nc

This office is ideal if you have an animal that needs immediate care (fast acting), a place to refill prescriptions without questions, or an immediate "fix." However, after spending thousands of dollars here, you still will not receive a consultation. At my last appointment I spent 350.00 with blood work, x-rays, and additional lab work only to have Dr. Darch leave the room without giving me chance to ask questions on whether my animal was going to survive. He has only spent 2 minutes with me at any given time, and despite our bleak outcome from his last results - he still left the room without even a glance. I'm disappointed, confused and in search of a new vet. Please don't make the same mistake we have. While he is highly credible and very nice, be prepared that there is literally no attention or "care" given to you or your pet. We will never return.

We have been taking our pets to Dr. Darch since 1987. My parents and sister also take their animals here. If it wasn't for Dr.Darch's tenacity we would have put our dog down. We were all ready to say our goodbyes to her but he talked us into giving her over the weekend and with his instructions she is still here with us today. She was sick 4 years ago. Never have we had a vet or a human doctor for that matter to call us over a weekend to check up on a patient. I'm sorry to hear that other people didn't have good experiences, but they have never been anything but kind and considerate to us.
