Overall

The owner came to my home and was extremely nice and insured me that they would take great care of my stuff and how they have a military contract so all of their drives go through government background checks. I liked what he had to say so I hired the company. They were great everytime I contacted them up until the move. On the day of the move the movers showed up...one smelled horribly of cigaretes...I was only supposed to have 4 movers that day and everytime I turned around more people were arriving to help with the move. The movers kept saying how they wanted to hurry up and finish because it was a saturday and they wanted to go home. They wrapped everything in my home when they took it out to the truck. We then left to head to my brand new home. This is when it got bad. I had brand new carpet and they covered the main areas downstairs but due to liability they cannot cover the stairs (which no one told me when I asked beforehand). They then unwrapped all furniture outside of my home and brought everything in. I don't know why they didn't carry it in and unwrap everything inside since when they moved it out they wrapped it and carried it to the truck wrapped. They marked up the walls badly. One dresser that was brand new got a huge scratch across the top. The worst was my piano. They put it in the living room but left it about 6 inches from the wall. I told them that I wanted it right up next to the wall. Two men then came in and grabed the front and lifted causing the backend to smash againt the wall and stairway. I told them to stop and get more guys so it could be moved properly. The movers grumbled about having to move it next to the wall. More men came in and again they smacked the wall very hard with the piano and then finally got smarter and slowly moved the piano into the corner against the wall. I looked and there was small pieces of wood on the floor from the piano because of them smashing it against the wall. On Monday I called and asked for the owner. He called me back a few days later and said a furniture repairman would be calling me for an appointment in a few days. The man came out and did a pretty good job with the dresser. However, he first said he wanted to move the piano to fix it.....I asked how he and I were going to move this piano out by ourselves and then how were we going to get it back. He decided it was not in an area where he could work on it and proceeded to call the owner. He told me the owner would call me and work something out. I didn't hear from them so I had to call. From this point on it was extremely difficult to get anyone on the phone. I finally spoke to the claims lady and she told me I specified that the piano couldn't be moved and therefore the broken parts of the piano were my issue not there. I called the owner left a message and called and spoke to the repairman to see what exactly he told them. I then kept calling to get updates on what they were going to do. The claims lady said she had to figure it out and I would get something in the mail. I asked what I was going to receive and she said she couldn't tell me. I asked her if it was more paperwork or a check and she said she couldn't tell me. two months after I moved I received a letter in the mail telling me my claim was denied since the paino couldn't be moved and they felt the damage was old. They sent me a $50 check and said it was for customer satisfaction. I don't know how the damage could be old when the wood that was knocked off was on the floor. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this moving company. If they were good they would have been used again by my parents moving in a month, but they were horrible after the move!!!!

Overall

Had an unfortunate experience with them. They broke my granite desktop in half - totally irreparable. The actual movers were very nice and concerned, but when it came time to submit a claim (with a certificated value from the granite company I purchased it from), the office decided to reimburse me less than one-third it's value. They said that the money was to 'cover damages.' It's broken, not scratched - it cannot be replaced for what they want to pay. Would not use them again or be able to recommend them if you have anything of value.
